This role is offered on a full in-studio basis or a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days per week in the studio). We can provide a comprehensive relocation support package as part of any offer, should you need to relocate. 

WHAT’S THE ROLE? 

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Game Writer to join our internal writing team. In this role, you’ll oversee the delivery of high-quality written game content, collaborating with various disciplines to ensure the game's storytelling aligns with the broader creative vision, while adhering to technical constraints and localisation requirements. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Partnering with the Game Director and discipline leads of the project to understand, define, and deliver text and narrative needs for the game. 
  • Collaborating closely with the Design team to shape the game’s narrative design and general player experience. 
  • Estimating, scheduling and managing all text requirements to ensure work is delivered to a high standard, on-time and in-budget. 
  • Promoting good narrative and text authoring practice across the project, driving the creation of style guides, glossaries and other supporting documentation 
  • Reviewing text content from developers and external writers, preparing it for in-game use. 
  • Supporting the voice casting and recording processes, providing any necessary materials and delivering feedback. 
  • Liaising with our Localisation team to adapt written content, ensuring it is suitable for our global audience. 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Experience in shipping several game projects, with extensive cross-discipline collaboration (UI, game design, audio, etc.)
  • Strong copywriting and editorial skills, covering all written and spoken game content.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to foster strong cross-disciplinary relationships to understand the needs of stakeholders and other departments.
  • Expertise in storytelling and world-building within a visual/interactive medium.
  • Enthusiasm for both the creative and technical responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience mentoring team members, supporting their personal and professional development and nurturing a cooperative and supportive culture.

BONUS IF YOU HAVE

  • Experience working in a writing or narrative capacity in commercial games, preferably in AAA.
  • Knowledge of management simulation games (especially Frontier titles).
