Position overview
The Luxembourg Fund Controller will take ownership of all Luxembourg related matters related to the day-to-date management of our funds. This role involves managing fund operations, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and service provider coordination. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Essential job functions
- Coordinate the annual statutory audit process for the Luxembourg funds.
- Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation for the annual financial statement audit (annual GP and AIFM reports).
- Interact and support administrators (CA/TA) and review the annual financial statements of the GPs
- Interact with external legal counsel and internal AML Compliance team to launch new GPs and funds.
- Interact and taking an active role with internal and external tax advisors for the preparation of the annual tax returns.
- Sitting on the Board of the Funds’ GPs and reviewing QBM resolutions.
- Designing and implementing an oversight on delegates framework to support StepStone’s AIFM.
- Review on a sample basis the quarterly NAVs of the fund.
- Budgeting fund expenses for new funds.
- Any other tasks related to StepStone’s Luxembourg funds as needed.
Education and/or work experience requirements
- Must be able to work legally in Luxembourg
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, EC, CPA)
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in the Luxembourg alternative fund administration business
- Working knowledge of AIFMD, Lux and US GAAP
