What You Will Get To Do:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join our team at SS&C Administrative Services SA (PTY) LTD. This role involves comprehensive oversight of fund accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance for a diverse portfolio of funds.
We are also looking for a candidate that is proactive in their approach to identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our fund accounting processes. As well as implement best practices and leverage technology to improve workflows to maximise efficiency.
Here are some of the Key Responsibilities:
NAV Calculation:
- Oversee the accurate calculation of daily, weekly, and monthly Net Asset Values (NAVs) for investment funds using the Hi-Portfolio & pControl platform.
- Ensure all fund accounting processes are completed in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.
- Verify and reconcile fund holdings, cash balances, and other financial data.
- Processing investor cashflows and performing unit reconciliations and ensure continuous alignment with Transfer Agency unit holders registry
- Accurate capture of Audit, Management as well as Performance Fees
- Ensure accurate production of Unit trust Income Distributions
Hi-Portfolio & pControl (or similar) Accounting Platform & Systems:
- Utilize the Hi-Portfolio and pControl platform for fund accounting and NAV calculations
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance within the accounting systems
- Ability to troubleshoot queries raised by clients
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and some knowledge of PowerBI
- Have some level of knowledge of Finswitch
Compliance and Regulatory:
- Ensure daily NAV prices are produced in line with regulatory and industry standards
- Ability to interface with Auditors and the ability to produce control environment documentation and packs in relation to daily processes
- Ability to maintain, adhere to and operate within prescribed risk mitigation standards
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency whilst maintaining completeness, accuracy and validity
- Implement best practices and be able to leverage technology to improve existing workflows
- Be able to document process enhancements within existing SOP (standard operating procedure) repository
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal operations teams, clients as well as third parties to gather necessary data and insights to ensure continued business operational processes
- Collaborate with external service providers such as Custodians, Transfer Agents to resolve any queries which may arise
- Ability to provide training to fellow team members and new joiners as and when required
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Investment Management, or a related field.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in fund accounting, investment administration, or financial services.
- Experience in hedge funds, unit trusts, private equity, or pension funds is beneficial.
- Familiarity with investment systems such as HiPortfolio is an advantage.
- Knowledge of asset management environment, including but not limited to financial markets and instruments.
- Prior experience of implementing a practical use of AI to existing and future processes to enhance efficiency would be desirable.
- Highly skilled in the use of MS Excel as well as all other MS Office suite products
