Role Mission
We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer with a strong background in travel tech, particularly in online booking engines, group travel, and eCommerce. In this role, you’ll optimize critical systems for UJV, including CRM systems, pipeline management, and Book of Business Management, to improve operational efficiency and enhance client experiences. You'll work on building scalable applications with a tech stack that includes PHP, Laravel, MySQL, and modern JavaScript frameworks, in an agile, fast-paced environment where we ship daily with an emphasis on usability and performance.
You Will:

  • Design, develop and maintain features across the full stack: React/Next.js, NestJS middleware, and PHP Laravel services (Admin, Payments, SSO, Product Vault).
  • Contribute to the migration of the legacy Node.js API Gateway (AWS Lambda) to the new NestJS-based platform with Redis and message queues.
  • Define and implement scalable architecture patterns for both backend services and frontend components.
  • Integrate and leverage AI-powered tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate development and support internal workflows.
  • Collaborate proactively in a remote-first environment: communicate blockers, document decisions, participate in technical discussions.
  • Contribute to DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerization, infrastructure as code.
  • Apply travel/hospitality domain knowledge to inform product decisions, data models, and integrations.
  • Support UX/UI discussions where technical constraints intersect with user experience.

This Job is for You If:

  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • You have 5-7 years of experience in full-stack development, with expertise in travel tech (online booking engines, group travel, eCommerce).
  • You’re passionate about optimizing systems that drive business operations and enhance client satisfaction.
  • You have strong experience with PHP/Laravel (5+ years), React/Next.js, and modern backend frameworks such as NestJS.
  • You’re proficient in both front-end and back-end development, with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainable architecture.
  • You have strong experience designing, building, and integrating REST APIs.
  • You are experienced working with Redis, caching strategies, and message queue systems such as BullMQ, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
  • You have strong SQL knowledge and hands-on experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
  • You have knowledge of CRM system optimization, pipeline management, and business logic for Book of Business Management.
  • You are experienced with integrating third-party APIs to improve system functionality.
  • You have experience applying software design patterns and engineering best practices across backend and frontend systems.
  • You’re a curious learner, eager to explore new tech, advise on best practices, and innovate in the travel industry’s tech landscape.
  • You are proficient in Linux servers and database management.
  • You have experience with agile development practices, cross-browser testing, debugging, and CI/CD workflows.
  • You are proficient with Git/GitHub, including commits, branches, pull requests, and deployment workflows.
  • You are familiar with AI-powered coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor to improve development efficiency and productivity.
  • You have an understanding of AWS services, including:
    • CloudFormation
    • S3
    • EC2
    • SQS

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience with advanced AWS services such as SNS, Lambda, CodeDeploy, ECS (Fargate), and ECR.
  • Experience developing or optimizing groups booking management solutions or Tour Operator platforms, including handling RFPs, contracts, inventory management, dynamic packaging, and automated workflows.
  • Experience working with distributed systems, asynchronous processing, or event-driven architecture.
