THE JOB

In the role of Senior Engineer, you will work on the TM1 Events team, delivering a B2B application used to create and manage events on the Ticketmaster website. You will play a key role in solution and architecture design for the systems your team supports.

As part of the TM1 Events team, you’ll be responsible for designing and developing application components and leading team projects. You’ll work independently with minimal supervision, applying your technical expertise to propose innovative solutions, build relationships across teams, and troubleshoot complex problems. You will evolve the TM1 Events application by implementing modern best practices and integration patterns.

You'll serve as a technical expert, collaborating closely with the Product Manager on feature planning and requirements. You will help drive team success by mentoring others, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting a DevOps & Agile workflow, delivering features end-to-end from development to production.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Design scalable architecture with strong monitoring and alerting capabilities

  • Contribute to designing a simple, maintainable, and reliable application platform

  • Drive the architecture of the B2B sales flow for Ticketmaster Venues

  • Take accountability for team performance

  • Mentor engineers and support team motivation

  • Assist external teams integrating with your services

  • Promote and document best practices

  • Develop frontends using web components, TypeScript, and Java Spring Boot stacks

  • Build and deploy on AWS and Kubernetes

  • Ensure quality through automated testing

  • Collaborate with Product, UX, and internal teams to develop new features

  • Lead the modernization and maintenance of legacy systems

  • Automate testing, deployment, and recovery processes

  • Inspire with innovative ideas and technical insights

  • Foster collaboration and consensus across teams

  • Document and train others on support procedures

  • Participate in on-call support rotation

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Strong backend development skills (e.g. Java, Spring Boot, Maven, GitLab CI)

  • Solid frontend experience (e.g. Angular, React, JavaScript, TypeScript)

  • Experience building and maintaining shared services and APIs

  • Familiarity with Design Patterns and SOLID principles

  • Understanding of frontend architecture

  • Ability to mentor and support the growth of other engineers

  • Experience modernizing and supporting legacy systems

  • Proficient in monitoring and maintaining real-time production systems

  • Familiar with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or MongoDB

  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with remote teams
