Octopus by RTG is hiring a Senior Full-Stack/Backend Engineer for our partner, Copay, offering a great opportunity to contribute to innovative projects.

We are seeking a Full-Stack/Backend Engineer with at least 5+ years of experience to join our growing team. You’ll tackle complex engineering challenges, work independently, and contribute to the development of a highly scalable and secure platform. What we value most is your ability to take on engineering challenges, learn quickly, and contribute to building a scalable digital infrastructure that makes an impact. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of payments in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services or full-stack solutions that power our payment platform.

• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions.

• Focus on building systems with strong performance, security, and reliability, ensuring seamless integration with frontend components and third-party systems.

• Take ownership of features and key components, driving them from ideation through to deployment.

• Solve complex technical problems independently, ensuring high standards of code quality and system architecture.

• Participate in architectural decision-making, code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.

• 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend or full-stack engineering.

• Strong proficiency in backend technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Java.

• Experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and API development (REST or GraphQL).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and distributed systems.

• Ability to design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing systems.

• Optional knowledge of Flutter, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Firebase is beneficial but not required.
