Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Edurio is on its way to improving education quality globally and we're looking for great people to join us on the journey.

We help schools and school groups survey their parents, pupils, and staff to build organisations where people thrive. We currently work with over 2000 schools in the United Kingdom and Latvia and are planning to grow significantly in the next year.

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you would take a problem the product team has framed, decide how it gets built, build it with the help of AI agents, verify it, and answer for it once it is live.

You would join a development team of five, and growing: four developers and a QA engineer. Product is a separate team of four. You would report to our Engineering Manager. Our Principal Engineer owns the architecture, the database schema and the standard we build to.

Our developers direct coding agents and verify what comes back, so writing code by hand is a small part of the job. Everybody here invests their time in exploring AI, new tools and agentic development, and we expect people to experiment rather than wait for permission. However, our engineers own and understand the code at a senior level so we are not looking for pure vibecoders.

• Take the work end to end: the technical design, the full stack build, the release, and how it behaves in production

• Direct and correct coding agents, and share what works so the rest of the team can use it

• Build the tests, the error output and the checks that let the agent correct itself and let the rest of us trust the result

• Review colleagues' changes where human judgement is needed: design, consequences, hidden coupling and security

• Respond first when something you built breaks, and own the fix, the alerting and the runbook

• Document what you build, and keep the agent context files for your area current

We write almost everything in TypeScript and run it on AWS.

• How we build
  - Claude Code and OpenAI Codex as coding agents
  - MCP servers that connect the agents to Linear, Grafana and Sentry
  - Agent and human review on every pull request, with work tracked in Linear

• Experience building and running web applications, front end and back end

• Strong use of coding agents in your daily work

• Ability to verify your own work before anybody else sees it

• Ability to write a technical design that a colleague or an agent can build from

• Ownership of your code - you can justify your choices and explain and defend the code you submit. You own and understand your code even where it was written agentically.

• Excellent verbal and written English skills

• Interest in being part of a strong team culture and work collaboratively with other departments
  

Useful, but we do not expect all of these:

• Vue, TypeScript, or AWS serverless

• Experience or interest in the EdTech sector

• Experience or interest in UI/UX or design
  

This is probably not for you if:

• You want a detailed specification handed to you, with the thinking already done

• You want to pass on what the agent produced without checking it

• You want somebody else to own the code once it is merged

• Ownership: You do what you said you would do, and take responsibility for how it lands with the client - not just for completing the task

• Genuine care: You build real relationships with clients and colleagues, assume good intentions, and do the right thing rather than the easy thing

• Openness: You communicate honestly, don't shy away from difficult conversations, and give and receive feedback well

• Gross salary: from 4500 EUR per month depending on experience, as well as company share options, paid phone plan, and health insurance.
