Senior Full Stack Engineer
HouseFacts | West Loop, Chicago (hybrid)
About HouseFacts
HouseFacts is building the system of record for the home. Homeowners get a clear, trustworthy picture of their property; property managers and service partners get the tools to maintain it. We are early-stage and growing, which means the work you do ships fast, reaches real customers, and matters immediately.
The problems you would work on
- AI in production: prompt and pipeline design for models that read uploaded home videos and photos, extract what is in the house, and turn it into structured, verifiable records
- Recommendations that hold up: maintenance schedules, appliance lifespan and warranty tracking, and billing insights generated from a home's actual data, with the evaluation to know when the model is wrong
- Payments infrastructure: ACH and card billing for detailed, tax-aware invoices, with money routed between homeowners, property managers, and our platform
- Accounting integrations: two-way sync with QuickBooks Online and the ledger design that keeps two systems telling the same story
- Subscriptions at scale: customers managing a hundred or more properties under one account, across web and the App Store
- Mobile and web parity: one API serving a native Swift app and a Vue web app, with deep linking that gets people back where they were
The role
You will build across our stack: a Python and FastAPI backend on Google Cloud with PostgreSQL, a Vue, Nuxt, and TypeScript web app on Firebase, and a native Swift iOS app, all sharing one API. You own features end to end, from schema to endpoint to UI, and you work directly with our Head of Technology, an engineer with 30 years of experience building and scaling products.
We are an AI-forward team in two senses. We build with agentic coding tools every day and expect you to direct them well, review their output critically, and know when to write the code yourself. And we ship AI into the product: multimodal models that make sense of a homeowner's videos, documents, and appliance data, wrapped in the prompting, evaluation, and guardrails that make their output trustworthy enough to bill against. Leverage matters more than lines typed, and judgment matters more than either.
