Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native)

The Role We Need:

PadSplit is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer (React Native, Django) to drive the development of our mobile and web applications. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about React Native mobile development, has experience with React.js for web, and is comfortable working with Django/Python on the backend.

We need a proactive, adaptable, and problem-solving engineer who thrives in the fast-paced environment of a startup. This isn’t just a traditional engineering role—think of it as a technical leadership position where you’ll drive mobile and web development while collaborating closely with stakeholders across the company. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with autonomy, making technical decisions, and wearing multiple hats when necessary.

Here’s What You’ll Do Day-To-Day:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize mobile applications using React Native, ensuring smooth performance across iOS and Android platforms.
• Build and enhance frontend applications using React.js, creating responsive and user-friendly interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver high-quality features.
• Lead and participate in code reviews, ensuring best practices, maintainable code, and high engineering standards.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues across both mobile and web platforms.
• Implement and maintain automated testing for React Native and React.js components to ensure code reliability and stability.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and architectural discussions to drive development priorities and improvements.
• Work on web development tasks when necessary. While the primary focus is mobile development, there may be times when web development takes priority based on project needs.
• Stay up to date with the latest React Native, React.js, and mobile development trends, incorporating best practices into the development process.

Here’s What You’ll Need To Be Successful:

• Expertise in React Native – Strong experience in mobile application development, including performance optimization, debugging, and deploying apps to the App Store & Google Play.
• Proficiency in React.js – Deep understanding of modern frontend development, state management, and UI performance optimizations.
• Experience with database management systems like PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git/Github/Gitlab and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across mobile and web applications.
• Experience with automated testing for React Native and React.js applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills, proactive debugging ability, and a passion for writing clean, maintainable code.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in an agile development environment.

The Interview Process:

• Your application will be reviewed for possible next steps by the Hiring Manager.
• If you meet eligibility requirements, the next step would be a video screen with a member of the PeopleOps team for about thirty (30) minutes.
• If warranted, the next step would be a video technical interview with our VP of Engineering at PadSplit for one (1) hour.
• If warranted, the next step would be a panel video technical interview with one of our Frontend Engineers & Backend Engineers for ninety (90) minutes.
• If warranted, then we move to offer!
