A Day in the Life:
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications using Python (Django) on the backend and React / React Native on the frontend
- Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services, ensuring performance, scalability, and security best practices
- Work with PostgreSQL to design schemas, write efficient queries, and support data-driven application features
- Partner closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into well-architected technical solutions
- Contribute to code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical decision-making for complex features and systems
- Identify opportunities to improve application reliability, performance, and developer experience through refactoring and automation
- Support production systems by investigating issues, implementing fixes, and continuously improving system observability and stability
What it takes:
- Occasional in-office collaboration as needed to support team alignment and planning
- Deep backend development experience with Django, including building RESTful APIs, managing authentication and authorization, and handling complex business logic
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, indexing strategies, and data integrity best practices
- Ability to make thoughtful architectural decisions, balancing scalability, reliability, maintainability, and delivery timelines
- Proven experience owning features end-to-end, from technical design through production support
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across the full stack, including frontend behavior, backend services, and infrastructure-related issues
- Comfort collaborating in cross-functional teams and providing technical leadership through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship
