As a .NET & Angular Developer, you will contribute to the design, development, and support of modern in‑house DBO applications. You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, secure, and scalable technology solutions that power Global Blue’s Tax‑Free Shopping products.

Working closely with your Development Lead and collaborating daily with Product, QA, UX, and DevOps, you will be part of a mature agile environment where engineering excellence, ownership, and collaboration shape the team’s success.

You will develop a deep understanding of our systems and be involved in every stage of the Software Development Lifecycle—from design through deployment and ongoing operations.

This position is part of the approved expansion of the DBO engineering team (March OPC approval: +6 Developers, +3 QA). It is designated to be sourced internally, aligned with the project team agreement.

  • Design and evolve scalable, maintainable services and web applications with clarity, simplicity, and long‑term sustainability in mind.

  • Apply Clean Architecture and clean coding practices daily; uphold SOLID, KISS, and YAGNI principles in both your work and peer reviews.

  • Take full ownership of quality: define testing strategies, build meaningful automated tests, and ensure reliable, regression‑resistant deliveries.

  • Champion secure‑by‑design approaches; mitigate vulnerabilities through thoughtful design, threat awareness, and defensive coding.

  • Take operational ownership of services: enable observability, build dashboards and alerts, and participate in incident response and post‑mortems.

  • Collaborate effectively with Product, QA, UX, and DevOps to refine requirements, identify risks, and communicate technical trade‑offs clearly.

  • Model and manage data using relational design best practices to ensure correctness, performance, and scalability.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, developer experience, and documentation.

  • Mentor and coach teammates; share knowledge, pair program, and elevate the team’s engineering standards.

  • Use AI‑assisted engineering responsibly (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve quality and productivity while maintaining human oversight.

Technical Skills

  • .NET 8–10 (C#): strong experience building modern web APIs, background services, and expertise with ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework.

  • Angular 19+ & TypeScript: experience with component architecture, state management (NGRX/RxJS), accessibility, and performance‑focused UI design.

  • Relational Databases (MSSQL): strong knowledge of schema design, indexing, query tuning, execution plans, locking, and troubleshooting.

  • RabbitMQ: understanding of durable messaging, retries/DLQs, idempotency, and resilient consumer patterns.

  • Containers & Orchestration: experience with Docker (multi‑stage builds, hardened images) and Kubernetes deployments.

  • CI/CD & Developer Experience: automated build/test pipelines, code review hygiene, git branching, and quality gates.

  • Observability: structured logging, metrics, tracing (OpenTelemetry or similar), and building meaningful dashboards and alerts.

  • Security: OWASP Top 10 and ASVS mindset, secure coding, OIDC/OAuth2, and awareness of PCI‑DSS requirements.

  • AI‑assisted Engineering: proficient using GitHub Copilot or IDE‑based agents with strong validation skills.

  • Engineering Excellence: Clean Architecture, Clean Code, SOLID, YAGNI, KISS, and comprehensive automated testing across unit, integration, and contract levels.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

  • Collaborative, proactive team player in international and multi‑disciplinary environments.

Preferable skills and competencies

  • Experience with Nx monorepos and micro‑frontend architectures in large Angular ecosystems.

  • Knowledge of Redis and distributed caching patterns.

  • Experience with performance tuning across backend, database, and frontend layers.

  • Familiarity with Azure services (e.g., ACR, managed databases, monitoring).

  • Experience defining and implementing SLOs/SLIs with actionable alerting.

  • Background in payments/financial services or compliance‑driven environments.

  • Experience collaborating across multi‑team international setups.

Qualifications and education requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8+ years of professional software development, with strong experience in backend or full‑stack engineering.

  • Proven experience operating services in production environments.

  • Hands‑on experience within agile delivery frameworks.

  • Strong English skills (written and spoken) in technical work environments.
