As a Senior Software Engineer - Checkout (d/f/m), you will
- Own and evolve vivenu’s Checkout Platform — the critical system that powers transactions for organizers and customers worldwide.
- Design, implement, and optimize end-to-end checkout experiences across the full stack (React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, TypeScript) that are fast, reliable, and delightful across devices and use cases.
- Build seamless, high-converting checkout experiences
- Implement and manage APIs, authentication, and validation logic, ensuring data consistency and security
- Continuously improve checkout performance, UX, and accessibility
- Develop and maintain backend services handling seat reservations and order management.
- Work closely with the DevOps/Infrastructure team to ensure observability and fault-tolerance in checkout systems
- Participate in design reviews and take ownership from concept to release
What you will need to succeed in this role:
- Extensive experience as a Full-Stack Engineer in high-impact web environments (E-commerce, SaaS, or fintech)
- Strong command of TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Proven understanding of UX principles, checkout flows, and transactional reliability
- Experience with Shopify, Stripe, Adyen, or similar platforms is a plus
- Knowledge of payment orchestration, security, and caching would be a nice addition
- Hands-on experience with service-oriented application design, including REST APIs and full-stack architectures
- Understanding of object-oriented principles and design patterns
- Familiarity with relational data modeling, and basic familiarity with NoSQL concepts
- Ability to balance thoroughness with pragmatism, even under tight deadlines
- Curiosity, proactiveness, and the desire to learn, eager to explore new technologies and challenge the status quo
- Excitement about having real ownership from day one while identifying with vivenu’s mission
