We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services using Python and Django. You'll work within multidisciplinary Agile teams, collaborating with product managers, designers, and DevOps engineers to deliver secure, resilient, and user-focused applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python and Django.
- Build secure RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and third-party services.
- Develop applications following GOV.UK Frontend design principles and standards.
- Implement secure authentication and authorisation using OIDC and OAuth 2.0.
- Develop and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas, queries, and migrations.
- Containerise applications using Docker and Docker Compose for local development and deployment.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best engineering practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous service improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital services.

Skills Required
- Hands-on experience with Python and Django
- Experience developing RESTful APIs
- Strong knowledge of GOV.UK Frontend and GDS standards
- Understanding of OpenID Connect (OIDC) and OAuth 2.0

- Excellent understanding of PostgreSQL including database design and optimisation
