Our team is building a brand new product from scratch within Cloudinary, focused on AI moderation at scale.
It’s a fast-moving, high-impact effort already attracting attention from major clients.
We operate like a small startup inside Cloudinary. That means:

We own the entire development lifecycle - from deciding what to build to how we build and deliver it. We work cross-functionally and collaboratively to move fast and make a real impact.
Our team is very small, highly focused, and fully hands-on.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and Deliver End-to-End: Develop core systems of the full stack moderation platform across both backend and frontend.
- Ship Fast, Ship Smart: Work quickly and clearly toward customer and business goals. Deliver functionality iteratively while keeping the big picture in focus.
- Set the Technical Foundation: Make architectural decisions that scale. Use the right tools, not just trendy ones. Leverage code generation and LLM-assisted development where helpful - but keep it on a leash. Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines to keep the team fast and safe. Lean on Cloudinary’s existing infrastructure where it makes sense, so you can move faster without reinventing the wheel.
- Elevate Quality and Standards: Clean code, modular design, and sustainable engineering practices — all that’s needed to build a secure, scalable stack.
- Drive Innovation and Practicality: Balance creative ideas with real-world execution.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experienced Full Stack Developer: 10+ years of hands-on software development. Comfortable across backend and frontend. Proven track record of owning and delivering impactful systems.
- Hands-On and Versatile: You architect, prototype, and code. You're comfortable across the stack and don’t get stuck in one domain. Languages and tools don’t slow you down (we use Python, TypeScript, React, and more). Experience with GenAI tools (like GPT, Copilot, Cursor) is a plus. Experience with ML, computer vision, and LLMs is also a plus — but this can also be a chance to enter the area if you wish to learn it.
- Cloud Native: Strong experience building and operating cloud-based systems (we use AWS). Bonus if you’ve worked on high-scale, distributed architectures. You should have hands-on experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Product-Minded: You care about the why, not just the how. You work closely with product to make smart tradeoffs and maximize impact.
- Independent but Collaborative: You thrive in environments with minimal process. You communicate clearly and work well with PMs, leads, and engineers across the team and the company.
- Comfortable with Ambiguity: You can dive into new domains and make fast progress. You’re not intimidated by messy problems or changing priorities.
- A Great Teammate: You enjoy good communication, humor, and helping build a fun and supportive team culture.
