The Role
Own and ship end-to-end features across a Nix-backed full stack: React front end, TypeScript/Node.js and Rust back end, and multi-account AWS infrastructure. Build data pipelines, write IaC (AWS CDK), test and monitor production systems, participate in code reviews and sprint planning, and mentor engineers while contributing to architecture and technical standards.

Factbird helps manufacturers turn real-time production data into decisions they can actually act on. Since 2016, we've helped manufacturers in 28 countries cut waste, boost uptime, and run smarter — from the shop floor to the boardroom. Over 300 companies trust us to make sense of their operations, and we're a team of 80+ people across Copenhagen and the US who care about making complex things simple.

We're growing our engineering team and hiring several Senior Full Stack Cloud Engineers — people who can move confidently across our stack: React on the front end, Rust and Node.js on the back end, and a multi-account AWS underneath it all.

About the role
We're open on where your strengths sit. Some of these roles will lean more toward the back end — APIs, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure. Others will lean more toward the front end — the interfaces our customers use every day. What matters is that you're genuinely full stack: comfortable owning a feature end to end, and willing to work across the stack when the team needs it. We're not looking for anyone who only does front end or only does back end.

We’re looking for confident independent contributors that lean into ownership, are keen to shape architecture, and invest in mentoring others.
You'll fit right in if you've got a pragmatic, get-it-done mindset, a good instinct for testing and clean design, and you're just as happy explaining a technical trade-off to another engineer as to someone outside engineering.

What you'll do

Building & shipping
  • Operate within a Nix-backed ecosystem from development tooling to cross-compiled build artifacts
  • Own features end to end — from a rough idea or user story through to a shipped, tested, monitored piece of production software
  • Build and maintain frontend features in React and backend services in TypeScript on Node.js and Rust, backed by a multi-account orchestrated AWS environment (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, EKS, and more, depending on the team)
  • Write infrastructure as code (e.g. AWS CDK) for the systems you build

Team & growth
  • Take part in code reviews—giving and receiving feedback that makes the codebase better
  • Contribute to sprint planning, story breakdown, and demos
  • Design systems and data pipelines from scratch, mentor other engineers, author RFCs and architecture decisions, and help set technical standards for the team

About you
We're looking for engineers who've seen more than one way of doing things, and who'll bring that perspective to challenge how we do things here — with a pragmatic, get-it-done mindset that can turn ambiguity into a plan.

The ideal background
  • At least five years experience since graduating from a relevant Masters program
  • Solid, hands-on experience across the full stack — frontend (React or equivalent) and backend (Rust/Node.js, or equivalent) — even if you have a natural preference for one side
  • Comfort working with AWS or another major cloud provider
  • A track record of shipping features independently, with a good instinct for testing, code quality, and clean design
  • Good communication — you can explain a technical trade-off clearly, whether you're talking to another engineer or someone outside engineering. And you can do all this with strong English fluency.
  • Experience designing systems from scratch, mentoring other engineers, or driving architecture decisions through to a decision

We welcome applicants from people eager to move to Denmark so long as you already have the legal right to live and work here. We can contribute to relocation costs for the right candidate.

Why Factbird?
People are at the heart of everything we build. We believe great products come from empowered teams — and we work hard to create an environment where you can do your best work and have space for life beyond it.

Here's what you can look forward to:
  • Flexible working hours: We trust you to manage your time. Life isn't one-size-fits-all, and neither is work.
  • Competitive salary: We offer compensation that reflects your skills, experience, and impact.
  • Internet reimbursement: Stay connected and productive, wherever you choose to work from.
  • Thoughtful, human onboarding: We'll support you step by step, giving you the context, tools, and guidance you need to feel confident from day one.
  • A career path that grows with you: Through bi-yearly Individual Development Plan conversations, we'll work together to shape a career journey that fits your ambitions.
  • Company-wide gatherings & team days: We regularly come together across teams and regions to connect, celebrate, and align on what's next.
  • A global, inclusive culture: We're proud of our diverse backgrounds and perspectives — and we actively celebrate them in how we work and collaborate.
