The Senior Frontend Engineer’s mission is to develop high-quality, efficient, and scalable software solutions that deliver value to our school district clients. - JavaScript, Node.JS, React, Typescript, Firebase, PostgreSQL, and recently started using Storybook
- Google Cloud Platform hosts our Apps
- We collaborate with GitHub, Slack, Zoom, Jira, Confluence, and Miro
- Every engineer is given ample opportunity to learn the Aperture product and codebase, with continual opportunities to demonstrate their abilities
About the role:
- We are looking to hire a passionate Senior Frontend engineer to join our empowered Product and Engineering team. The team today consists of 3 engineers, a QA engineer, a contracted designer, and a Product Owner.
- On a typical day, you may collaborate with product, architect a solution, break down an epic, implement a feature, or evolve a coding practice with your fellow colleagues.
- You will develop and release software solutions in an agile environment, helping us focus on building teacher focused enhancements and developing a mental health screener which is a new product for us.
- You will determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
- Support our team’s continual growth by creating documentation which could be flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
- You will bring your own experience and ideas to help us continually iterate and help the team stay a high performing team within our process, our code, our standards, and help us reach a full CICD process.
- Help make a positive impact on many children, youth and adults nationwide as you continue to support and enhance Aperture’s research-developed and strength-focused product.
About you:
- You are a skilled engineer who has taken the lead of individual stories and epics. You take pride in the code you create and strive to produce high quality, accessible, and performant user experiences.
- You have a minimum of four years of experience developing software products or a matching level of skill and strengths.
- You are very comfortable writing modern architecture within the frontend codebase, that integrates well to the backend. You consider the task at hand while also recognizing the impact it might have on the larger system as a whole.
- You have a deep understand of UI and UX, driving the team to build features that will be smooth and successful for our end users.
- You have experience with unit and integration testing. You believe in testing your work and seek to automate your testing whenever possible.
- You are empathetic and desire to work on a well-functioning and communicative team. You set a high bar for yourself and engage with and support your team to be the best that they can be.
- You understand the importance of collaborating with and helping your fellow engineers, product partners and others to deliver customer value.
- You can comfortably work remote. You have the ability to attend regular team ceremonies, department and team meetings, while also being available for team collaboration. We respect Work/Life balance and don’t believe that working remotely means you work more. On occasion we will ask you to travel to meet the team in person.
