Job Overview

WHO WE ARE
Relativity is a leading legal data intelligence company building technology that helps users organize data, discover the truth, and act on it with confidence. Our AI-powered, cloud platform, RelativityOne, transforms massive volumes of complex information into actionable insights for litigation, investigations, regulatory inquiries, data breach responses, and other high-stakes legal work where accuracy and trust are crucial.
The world’s largest law firms, corporations, and government agencies rely on Relativity’s legal AI software to securely surface and manage the most relevant and impactful information in their matters. Beyond our commercial impact, we are committed to expanding access to technology and supporting pro bono legal work.
WHAT WE DO
The aiR Assist Platform team builds the frontend platform and infrastructure behind Relativity’s AI-powered products. The team focuses on scalable frontend architecture, micro-frontend enablement, reusable UI infrastructure, AI context-sharing capabilities, and developer experience that allow product teams to build and ship AI experiences consistently and efficiently.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join the aiR Assist Platform team at Relativity. In this role, you will help shape the frontend architecture behind Relativity’s AI products by building reusable UI infrastructure, enabling composable micro-frontend delivery, and creating a seamless developer experience for teams building on the platform.
You will work at the center of our frontend modularization efforts, helping unify frontend experiences across AI chat products while contributing to the agent harness that enables AI context to flow across host applications and embedded experiences. This platform-focused role is ideal for someone who thinks in terms of reusable building blocks, clean module boundaries, and long-term architectural excellence rather than one-off feature delivery.

Job Description and Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Design and implement scalable, performant, and maintainable frontend infrastructure using React 19, TypeScript, PrimeReact, and Relativity’s internal design systems.

  • Advance the organization’s micro-frontend strategy through web-component-based application delivery and frontend composition across Relativity tenants.

  • Evolve shared context registry and postMessage-based communication mechanisms that enable AI context sharing across chat experiences.

  • Drive frontend modularization through clean module boundaries, shared libraries, code-splitting, and Nx monorepo best practices.

  • Build responsive, accessible, and cross-platform user interfaces with strong adherence to responsive web design principles and WCAG accessibility standards.

  • Partner with UX, product management, and backend engineering teams to deliver consistent user experiences integrated with generated OpenAPI clients and AI services.

  • Define and promote engineering standards for testing, accessibility, performance, maintainability, and frontend quality.

  • Own comprehensive automated testing practices using Vitest, Playwright, visual regression testing, and Storybook-driven component development.

  • Improve frontend CI/CD processes through progressive CDN delivery, automated quality gates, conventional commit versioning, and component lifecycle management.

  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across frontend platform initiatives.

  • Explore and integrate AI-driven enhancements into internal tools and platform experiences.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Required

  • 4–6+ years of professional frontend development experience building large-scale web applications or enterprise platforms.

  • Advanced proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and the modern React ecosystem, including hooks and concurrent patterns.

  • Demonstrated platform mindset with experience designing reusable UI infrastructure, shared libraries, and maintainable abstractions.

  • Strong experience with modular architecture, code-splitting, lazy loading, and micro-frontend concepts such as module federation, web-component composition, or similar approaches.

  • Experience working with component libraries such as PrimeReact, Material UI, or comparable frameworks.

  • Excellent responsive web design skills, including semantic HTML, modern CSS approaches, and cross-device layouts.

  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services and working with asynchronous data patterns.

  • Familiarity with state management and data-fetching tools such as React Query and Zustand.

  • Experience with modern build systems and monorepo tooling including Vite, Webpack, Nx, or Turborepo.

  • Strong understanding of frontend performance optimization, browser compatibility, and web accessibility (WCAG).

  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated tests using tools such as Vitest, Jest, Playwright, or Cypress.

Preferred

  • Experience building frontend infrastructure in cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure.

  • Experience contributing to a design system or shared enterprise component library.

  • Experience with module federation and runtime composition of independently deployed frontend applications.

  • Understanding of backend technologies such as .NET or Node.js to support cross-functional collaboration.

  • Familiarity with AI-enhanced frontend solutions, including chat interfaces, streaming responses, agentic context systems, and intelligent UI experiences.

  • Interest in or experience with AI/ML-assisted UI/UX, personalization, or generative interaction patterns.
