We're looking for a Senior Front-end Engineer to join our growing Product Engineering team at Istari Digital. In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to our platform frontend, building interfaces that are not only functional and performant but beautifully designed and deeply usable.
We're seeking someone who brings strong engineering rigor to the front-end — while also having an eye for design and the willingness to work closely with our design team to translate research and prototypes into user-friendly products.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys ownership from start to finish, and values thoughtful design and high-quality implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of frontend feature delivery — from shaping and spec’ing to design, implementation, testing, and release.
- Collaborate with customers, partner teams, and engineering managers to gather requirements and build impactful features.
- Work closely with our Head of Design and other engineers to bring user research to life, implement UI components that follow our design schema, and ensure consistent UX across the platform.
- Maintain high engineering standards for performance, security, maintainability, and velocity across the frontend codebase.
- Contribute to team-wide engineering practices, mentoring peers, reviewing code, and evolving our frontend architecture.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling (we use Vite, Vitest, and Tailwind CSS).
- Experience working with REST APIs to power dynamic frontend applications.
- Comfort using Figma and partnering with designers to implement component libraries and responsive layouts.
- A strong product mindset — you care not just about how things work, but how they feel to the user.
- Demonstrated ability to independently own and deliver frontend features in a production setting.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with backend technologies like Python, or deployment tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Experience working on developer tools, mechanical engineering platforms, or high-security applications (e.g., in aerospace or defense).
- Familiarity with documentation sites like Docusaurus or low-code tools like Webflow.
