We are hiring a Front-end Engineer for Barstool Sports located in New York City or remote. As a Front-end Engineer, you will not only own but also perform maintenance and site enhancements across various projects. You will be tasked to work with the product & engineering team to navigate Barstool's chaos and perform the engineering lift needed to accomplish our core objectives by applying your knowledge of front-end development. You will also be responsible for keeping up with the latest web technologies; at Barstool, we pick the best tool for the job and aren’t afraid of cutting-edge tech. The team uses Next.js, Vercel, AWS Lambda, GitHub Actions, and more.
Additionally, we don’t have a dedicated QA team, so we expect all engineers to test their work and truly understand the end result thoroughly. You will work with talented product and design folks on a day-to-day basis and are expected to communicate with them in an efficient and potentially non-technical manner.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering experience in Javascript
- 2+ years of experience building Next.js sites or React.js sites with hooks
- Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision
- Self-motivated and able to efficiently run with a project without close supervision
- Ability to work well with diverse stakeholders
- Experience with one of the following areas is a plus: Publishing/CMS, Video playback, Streaming, E-commerce, AdTech, Podcast Tech
- Excellent communication skills — you should be able to articulate your decisions clearly.
Salary Range: $120,000- $190,000
