THE ROLE

As Indie Campers expands its platform globally, we’re taking on the exciting challenge of ensuring a top-tier user experience across all devices. We’re transitioning our front-end stack to React + Next.js, enhancing both performance and scalability, and we need skilled developers to help lead this transformation.

Our Technology Team is responsible for creating and maintaining the products that power our platform, used by Travelers, Hosts, Sellers, and Indie Colleagues. Currently, we work with a stack that includes Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Vue.js + Nuxt, and Postgres, but we are focused on upgrading our front-end to React + Next.js to deliver a cutting-edge experience.

This role is perfect for a seasoned front-end developer who is passionate about building user-friendly, responsive, and visually appealing web applications. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our platform’s user experience, working with the latest technologies to create features that delight our users.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

• Engage with the business and gather feedback from stakeholders.
• Collaborate with developers to design and implement algorithms and flowcharts.
• Own your code from end-to-end, writing clean, reusable, and efficient code, and deploying it to production.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing code.
•  Proactively recommend and execute system improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• 6+ years of experience in product development.
• Expertise in React + Next.js, with knowledge of JavaScript and Vue.js + Nuxt as a plus.
• Experience working with REST APIs.
• Strong focus on ensuring that user experience drives design decisions.
• Ability to develop features that enhance user interaction and experience.
• Balance functional and aesthetic design to create visually appealing, efficient web pages.
• Optimize web pages for speed and scalability across desktop and mobile platforms.
• Maintain consistent branding throughout the design process.
• Knowledge of SEO principles and experience with GA/GA4 integration.
