Position: Senior Front End Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Front End Software Developer to design, develop, implement, and support modern web-based applications and user interfaces. The successful candidate will translate technical specifications into high-quality, tested applications while collaborating throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

This role requires strong front end development expertise, user experience awareness, accessibility compliance knowledge, and the ability to work with complex enterprise-scale systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement front end code and user interface interactions.
  
• Create attractive, effective, and responsive user interfaces.
  
• Translate technical system specifications into working, tested applications.
  
• Develop detailed programming specifications and application components.
  
• Write, generate, compile, maintain, and test code.
  
• Conduct unit testing and support quality assurance activities.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during software operation and deployment.
  
• Provide technical assistance during implementations, conversions, and migrations.
  
• Collaborate with IT professionals across all phases of the SDLC.
  
• Design, code, test, debug, document, deploy, and maintain applications.
  
• Work with relational and hierarchical database technologies.
  
• Utilize query languages and information retrieval packages.
  
• Elicit and document requirements from stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  
• Support application deployment and troubleshooting activities.
  
• Create web interfaces for large-scale web applications.
  
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design.
  
• Integrate and utilize Social Media APIs where required.
  
• Participate in product strategy discussions, roadmap planning, pilot programs, and partnership assessments.
  
• Conduct design walkthrough sessions with project teams.
  
• Provide post-implementation support and technical issue resolution.
  
• Prepare user and system documentation as required.
  

Required Qualifications

Java Development Experience

• 10+ years of demonstrated experience using Java.
  
• Experience with:
  
• Eclipse
  
• IBM RAD
  
• IBM RSA
  
• WebSphere v8.5 or higher
  
• Hibernate/JPA
  

Front End Technical Skills

• 5+ years of React experience.
  
• 10+ years of JavaScript experience.
  
• 5+ years of TypeScript experience.
  
• 5+ years of HTML5 and CSS experience.
  
• 5+ years of Node package management tools (NPM or similar).
  
• 5+ years of RXJS experience.
  
• 3+ years of Bootstrap and jQuery experience.
  
• Experience with:
  
• Spring Framework (MVC, Security, JPA, Boot)
  
• Bitbucket
  
• Maven
  
• Responsive Web Application Development
  
• Cross-browser compatibility
  

Database Experience

• 10+ years of Oracle Database (11G+) experience.
  
• 5+ years working with:
  
• SQL
  
• Tables
  
• Views
  
• Sequences
  
• Stored Procedures
  
• Functions
  
• Triggers
  

Accessibility Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with AODA compliance.
  
• Experience with WCAG 2.0 AA standards.
  
• Knowledge of AODA and related accessibility regulations and standards.
  

Additional Desirable Skills

• Internet-ready application development.
  
• Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies.
  
• Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
  
• Middleware and gateway technologies.
  
• Product installation script review, analysis, modification, testing, and debugging.
  
• Post-implementation support experience.
