Job Description

Working with leadership and key stakeholders across the business, the Senior FP&A Manager is responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis activities across sales, opex and overall financial statements consolidation. Managing a team of four FP&A managers, supported by a team of analysts, you will be responsible for delivery of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, periodic performance analysis as well as ad hoc commercial analysis to support decision making. A successful candidate will have experience of leading financial planning cycles and specific retail experience would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team that develops and maintains budgets and forecasts for group wide sales, opex and capex
  • Lead the consolidation and management of the P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statement for all financial planning activities
  • Partner with functional leaders to understand their financial performance, provide insights, and support decision-making.
  • Prepare and present insightful reports and dashboards to senior leadership, highlighting costs, performance trends, and key business insights across functions
  • Analyse trends, identify opportunities for optimisation, and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Stay informed of industry trends and global macro insights to be able to anticipate risks and opportunities facing the business
  • Prioritise key activities and drive delivery through collaboration across multiple teams in the business, both within and outside of the FP&A space.
  • Build effective communication channels with business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the wider commercial finance, strategic finance and central planning teams to ensure alignment to group strategic priorities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and relevant stakeholders to assess business performance and provide direction on enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with 8+ years post qualified experience in a commercial finance focused role
  • Direct previous experience leading an FP&A team in a fast paced commercial environment
  • Strong work ethic and very comfortable working in an ‘unstructured’, consultative setting, with a focus on value creation
  • Strong organisational, planning and delegation skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables within deadlines.
  • Ability to partner with the business across all levels of the organisation, supporting the development of strategy, delivery and reporting of results.
  • Strong communication skills.  Ability to structure and present a compelling story, bringing stakeholders on the ‘journey’.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to quickly assimilate information, assess options and communicate these clearly.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture in the context of business growth, ensuring that all activities are commercially orientated first and foremost.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to be comfortable in an agile role.
  • Is a clear strategic thinker and very comfortable working in this setting.
  • Ability to formulate own opinions through financial analysis and multiple source insights which supports decision making and drives outcomes.
  • Influences and empowers others to think creatively ensuring that processes are designed to optimise efficiency and value
