ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, modify, and update code for new and existing products
- Provide test fixture support for manufacturing, QA, and contract manufacturers
- Troubleshoot product failures, and help find solutions for in-field issues as well as in-development products
- Travel to support manufacturing builds
- Maintaining communication within the greater firmware development team
- Work cross functionally with other engineering disciplines, particularly EE and Test
- Write clear documentation on your work, and occasionally help update and document the work of others on the firmware team
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant Firmware optimization experience in one or more of the following areas: product design, new product release, test engineering, manufacturing support.
- Firmware design and troubleshooting on embedded microcontrollers and low power devices
- C programming skills mandatory; Python is a plus
- Strong debugging skills - Experience with gdb and other debugging tools/principles is a must-have
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, team player, with a strong desire to learn new skills and grow
- Flexibility, tenacity, and focus
Technical skills
- Experience with medical devices or other regulated products
- BLE
- Real-time Operating System (RTOS)
- Understanding of serial communication protocols I2C, SPI, UART (required)
- Working with EE to bring up a PCB (required)
- Experience with sensors or other ICs communicating over digital interfaces
EDUCATION:
Electrical Engineering or computer science background, or equivalent work experience.

SALARY RANGES:
Salary varies by role, level and location, and is dependent on the cost of labor in a given
geographic region among other factors. These ranges may be modified at any time.
