As our Senior FinOps Analyst, you'll be responsible for establishing and embedding FinOps practices across Skipton's technology estate.

You'll create the governance, reporting, processes and financial insights that enable better technology investment decisions, whilst ensuring cloud spend is transparent, accountable and aligned to business outcomes.

This is more than a reporting role. You'll be the subject matter expert for FinOps, helping the organisation understand where technology money is being spent, why it is being spent, and how we can maximise value from every pound invested.

At Skipton, we're founded on fairness. We exist to do right by our members - and we believe that starts with doing right by our people. So whoever you are and whatever you bring, there's a place for you here and a genuine plan for where you go next.

What You’ll Do

Every day at Skipton is innovation day. Join our Technology team and youll discover that were constantly focused on real challenges as we build the tools that get things done for our members - quicker than you imagine.

  • Establish and lead Skipton’s FinOps capability, including governance, processes and reporting standards.
  • Drive cloud cost transparency across Microsoft Azure, providing clear insight into spend, usage trends and cost drivers.
  • Develop showback/chargeback models and embed financial accountability across technology teams.
  • Partner with Technology, Finance, Procurement and Architecture teams to integrate FinOps best practice into decision-making.
  • Identify and deliver cloud cost optimisation opportunities while balancing performance, resilience and business value.
  • Develop forecasting, budgeting and financial models to improve cost predictability and support investment decisions.
  • Create cloud reporting, dashboards and KPIs, leading financial reviews and providing recommendations to senior stakeholders.

We work in a hybrid way, balancing flexibility with collaboration. For this role, you'll typically spend three days a week in our Skipton office, with the remaining two days working from home.

What You’ll Need

We're looking for an experienced analyst with a passion for technology financial management, data-driven decision making and cloud cost optimisation.

You'll be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and able to translate complex financial and consumption data into clear, actionable business insight.

  • Proven experience in a FinOps, Cloud Financial Management or similar role and experience implementing FinOps practices within Azure or multi-cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of FinOps principles, including cost optimisation, forecasting, governance and financial accountability.

  • Experience working collaboratively with Technology, Finance and Procurement teams with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
