We are looking for a Senior Acumatica ERP Specialist to support and enhance our highly customized, multi-entity, multi-currency on-premises Acumatica environment. You will work closely with Finance and business stakeholders, delivering ERP customizations, integrations, upgrades, and system improvements while owning projects end-to-end.
The ideal candidate has strong Acumatica ERP expertise, experience with customizations, integrations, and business processes, and can translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Experience using AI coding tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to accelerate development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting is highly valued.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- User support & operations. Own second-line support for Acumatica users: troubleshoot and resolve functional, data and technical issues, manage the Acumatica helpdesk queue, and drive root-cause fixes rather than repeat workarounds.
- Customization & development. Design, build, test and deploy Acumatica customizations across the full spectrum, from Generic Inquiries and reports to complex C# customization projects built on the Acumatica Framework.
- Integrations. Build and maintain integrations between Acumatica and other internal systems (data warehouse, CRM, P2P and others) using the Acumatica REST API and Workato, our integration platform.
- Upgrades & platform lifecycle. Plan and execute the annual version upgrade of our on-premises Acumatica instance: refactoring customizations, regression testing, UAT, go-live planning and post-upgrade stabilization.
- Solution design & stakeholder partnership. Partner with Finance and other business teams to clarify requirements and challenge assumptions, propose options, and turn them into technical designs and delivery plans. Own scope, estimates and delivery of your projects.
- AI-assisted engineering. Use AI coding assistants and agents (we use Claude Code) as a routine part of development, testing, documentation and troubleshooting; help define and evolve the team's practices for using AI safely and effectively in an ERP context.
- Reliability & governance. Monitor application health, performance and data integrity; implement application monitoring and alerting; maintain release management discipline. Coordinate with IT on infrastructure matters and our dedicated SQL Server DBA on database administration.
- Quality, documentation & mentoring. Contribute to and review code, maintain technical documentation, and mentor other team members. Take the technical lead on initiatives within your area and act as a subject-matter expert for Acumatica across the company.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years of hands-on Acumatica ERP experience, with at least 3 years in a technical/development capacity (customization projects, integrations, upgrades). Experience as an Acumatica implementation or technical consultant at a VAR or partner is highly valued.
- Deep working knowledge of the Acumatica Framework and platform: DACs, graphs and extensions, BQL, event handlers, Generic Inquiries, Report Designer, Business Events, Automated Processing, Import/Export Scenarios, and the REST API.
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET, T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Solid understanding of core accounting and finance processes as implemented in an ERP (GL, AR, AP, sales orders, cash management, revenue recognition, multi-entity, multi-currency), and the ability to discuss basic accounting topics confidently and clearly with accountants and controllers.
- Practical, day-to-day use of AI coding assistants or agents (Claude Code or comparable) in real delivery work, with the judgment to review what they produce before it reaches a finance system.
- Proven ability to run projects end to end with minimal supervision: requirements, design, build, test, deployment and post-go-live support.
- Good verbal and written communication in English; able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and to write clear documentation.
- Comfortable working in a distributed multinational team, with flexibility to overlap several working hours a day with colleagues on the US East Coast.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting/Finance or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
NICE TO HAVE
- Relevant Acumatica developer or consultant certifications.
- Experience with Acumatica version upgrades on a heavily customized on-premises instance.
- Experience integrating Acumatica with Workato or a comparable integration platform.
- Exposure to SOX/ITGC controls, audit support and change-management processes in a finance systems environment.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and automated testing approaches (Acumatica Test SDK or similar).
- Experience with modern AI integration, e.g. building MCP servers or agent tooling around ERP APIs, or using LLMs for support triage and data quality analysis.
HOW WE WORK
- Financial Systems is a small, senior team with a high degree of ownership: each of us runs our own areas end to end and covers for one another when needed. We value people who are responsive, detail-oriented, make decisions, and follow through.
OUR INTERVIEW PRACTICES
To ensure a fair and genuine hiring process, candidates are expected to participate in interviews without the use of AI tools, automated prompts, or third-party assistance. Interviews are designed to assess individual skills, experience, and communication style, and we value authentic, real-time interaction.
Use of AI or external assistance during live interviews may result in disqualification. For roles where AI skills are being evaluated, permitted use of AI tools will be clearly communicated in advance. Candidates may be asked to disable virtual backgrounds or participate in in-person interviews.
