Who You Are:
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to work from our Overland Park, KS office. This role is primarily responsible for the preparation of QTS’ consolidated financial statement reporting, technical accounting support and debt compliance reporting. This individual will collaborate across departments and with external auditors, gaining broad exposure to the Company’s operations. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting.
What You Will Do:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements (both QTS consolidated and stand-alone entities), footnotes, and related disclosures for external reporting purposes, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
Technical accounting research and transaction support.
Provide technical accounting guidance to resolve accounting and reporting issues, ensuring proper application of accounting standards.
Draft technical accounting memos and maintain other accounting policy documentation.
Assist in the preparation of the Company’s debt compliance reporting to ensure all required financial information and covenant calculations are provided accurately and timely to lending institutions
Lead preparation of the Company’s share-based compensation expense.
Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.
Use accounting concepts, reporting experience, and analytical skills to resolve questions/issues in efficient and effective ways.
Proactively identify issues and areas for process improvement, including automation, to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Establish and maintain effective controls over financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of reported financial information.
Support ad hoc financial reporting requests as needed.
What You Will Need to Be Successful:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Three or more years of relevant accounting and/or financial reporting experience
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - preferred
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or MBA - preferred
Public accounting experience preferred
Past experience includes increasingly progressive responsibility at a large company preferred
Experience with financial reporting platforms such as Wdesk preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong analytical/technical skills and experience analyzing and interpreting financial data.
Experience partnering with a diverse group of stakeholders and managing to results.
Strong attention to detail; Conducts critical self-reviews to ensure accurate and timely work product.
Strategic thinking capabilities and deep understanding of GAAP and financial processes.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner across departments with competing priorities.
A problem-solving mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement in financial processes, including automation.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders clearly.
Professional agility to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
Sound organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work extended hours as needed.
