Job Description
The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will drive management reporting, planning and forecasting process for Guardant Health’s G&A functions. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Financial Planning and Analysis, this role will work closely with functional leaders and FP&A/Accounting teams to report monthly financials, analyze actuals variance to forecast/budget, contribute to budgeting and strategic/financial planning process and champion reporting process optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior business leaders in G&A functions and provide robust monthly and quarterly financial transparency to drive impactful FP&A insights and support decision making.
- Drive quarterly forecast/annual budgeting and planning process for G&A functions, including OpEx and headcount planning.
- Work closely with Accounting team on monthly/quarterly close processes.
- Analyze financial performance against budgets/forecast, provide detailed commentary on variance drivers, and communicate findings to key stakeholders.
- Communicate clear and concise business drivers behind financial data and collaborate with business teams to build actionable plans to achieve business and financial goals.
- Evaluate and assess key G&A operational issues, risks and opportunities pertaining to budget, actuals, and forecast updates.
- Develop executive-level presentation materials to inform senior leaders of variance root causes, mitigation strategies, and required business decisions.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and modeling to support critical business decisions.
- Develop deep understanding of financial planning and ERP systems to support process improvements on planning and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting, MBA a plus
- Minimum of 8+ years of FP&A related experience, experience in diagnostics company and G&A support a plus.
- Ability to think creatively and quickly with minimal direction and information.
- Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, data analysis and financial modeling abilities.
- Data-oriented and consultative problem-solving mindset.
- Strong finance and accounting skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excel Power User proficiency required.
- Expertise in presentation tools such as Think-cell, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience with ERP and financial planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, etc.
Additional Information
Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.
For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000 to $198,400. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
