Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues, generating monthly reports, invoicing, account reconciliation, and communicating with customers. We’re searching for a skilled, detail-oriented financial analyst with excellent communication and record keeping skills. The Financial Analyst will help keep us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial analyses, such as cost analysis, budget-to-actual variance analysis, pricing and margin analysis, commission analysis, forecasting and budgeting support, departmental or project financial performance analysis
  • Prepare and maintain detailed accounting records, including AR, AP, and Payroll
  • Review contracts and work with project managers to ensure all billable items are included in invoices
  • Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distributing cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the AR sub-ledger
  • Maintain and update accounting files, including customer and banking paperwork
  • Research and resolve account discrepancies
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding billing and payment issues
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing process and prepare related financial reports, including budget to actual comparisons, AR aging, cash receipts, & credit analysis
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Assist in developing and implementing improvements to financial processes
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
  • Develop predictive financial models to support organizational decision making
  • Assist in streamlining the accounting processes by identifying areas for performance improvement, automation and integration between systems
  • Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting, and comply with regulations
  • Assist in developing pricing models and creating innovative strategies for cost reduction
  • Analyze and establish policies and procedures to improve our cost structure and budgets

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical, research, time management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team

  • Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strategic thinking and organizational skills
  • Strong proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial systems

 Location & Work Environment

This position is full-time in our office in Okemos, MI, with the potential for a hybrid schedule.
