The Role
- Support the Canadian business in achieving financial targets and strategic objectives through high-quality financial analysis and insights
- Provide accurate, timely, and actionable financial information to support planning, forecasting, and decision-making
- Partner with Sales, Product, and Operations teams to improve financial and operational performance
- Contribute to the development of financial models, reporting, and analytics that enhance business visibility and outcomes
- Key contributor within the finance team supporting budgeting, forecasting, pricing, inventory, and commercial analysis
- Acts as a business partner to functional teams, providing financial insights to support decision-making
- Supports the development and improvement of financial processes, reporting, and analytical tools
- Focuses on analysis, execution, and continuous improvement rather than team leadership
You Will
Integrated Business Planning
- Support the monthly business planning cycle with Sales and Product teams
- Analyze demand assumptions and assess financial implications of commercial initiatives
- Translate demand plans into financial forecasts, incorporating pricing, cost, and investment drivers
Budgets & Forecasts
- Support the preparation of 5-year plans, annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Maintain and enhance forecasting models, including input templates and assumptions
- Analyze forecast vs. actual performance and provide variance insights
- Develop reporting (e.g., Power BI) to improve visibility into performance and gaps to target
- Challenge assumptions and highlight risks and opportunities
- Challenge the quality of the process, the business assumptions, and the output to ensure a rigorous outcome that is led by investment drivers and aligned to strategy.
Commercial Insights – Product and Market
- Partner with functional teams to interpret financial and operational performance
- Deliver monthly performance analysis and insights to business stakeholders
- Support product lifecycle analysis (new product introductions, end-of-life decisions)
- Contribute to value chain analysis and performance tracking
- Assist in the development of BI tools and reporting capabilities
- Support Local and Global Product Line Leaders as required
Product Margin analysis
- Analyze key drivers of gross margin including pricing, cost, freight, and mix
- Provide insights into product and customer profitability
- Support Sales and Product teams with data-driven recommendations to improve performance
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting future performance
Initiative Lead to drive Operational benefits
- The purpose is to support the business with insights and reporting as it needs to lift performance and drive towards Leading Goals.
- Partnering with the business to assess how learning from past results can be used to drive Initiatives for improved future performance.
- Support the financial valuation of initiative benefits and the ongoing tracking of performance. Contribute to solutions for emerging threats and gaps to target.
- Resolve events and drive process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency
- Continually seek to improve visibility and reporting of key data to lift business performance.
You Have:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and CA qualified
- Commercial accounting experience
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial data
- Strong understanding of strategic forecasting and budget processes
- Ability to implement cost control NPD and pricing strategies to improve profit performance
- Strong financial understanding and analytical skills
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in translating financial results into commercial and operational performance
- Strong analytical skills, especially make meaning of diverse data to identify trends and insights
- Advanced user of MS Office and analytics applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)
- Systems skills and knowledge of large ERP systems (JDE, Salesforce)
The expected base salary/pay range for this role is $ 84,000.00 - $ $110,000.00. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidates experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
