Major Job Functions:
As a Sr Financial Analyst within the corporate commercial and financial performance management team, you will play a key role in supporting strategic financial decision-making through detailed analysis, modelling, planning, and reporting. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining financial models to support balance sheet, free cash flow, key organizational metrics, and related activities and initiatives. This includes short and long range planning and modelling, frequent cash projections and cycle close reporting, strong collaboration with various cross-functional teams throughout the organization, executive and corporate reporting, and detailed KPI modelling and tracking.
Your responsibilities will include:
Financial Reporting & Insights:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with high accuracy.
Conduct variance analysis and provide clear, insightful commentary.
Lead and participate in the completion of executive-level presentations.
Prepare ad-hoc reports to support business needs.
Forecasting and budgeting:
Collaborate and communicate with finance and business team members across the organization to develop the balance sheet, cash, and metrics projections, budgets, and forecasts.
Perform complex financial analysis, including: conducting research, identifying gaps in reporting and analysis application tools and process, design and implement solutions to support reporting and analysis requirements, application of modelling to analyze and interpret financial impact, and measure financial results against budget and forecast.
Develop comprehensive long range financial models.
Review financial operating results to identify key trends, variances, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Conduct market analysis using research tools and contacts to support executive level reporting relative to the forecast and budget cycles.
preparation and delivery of reporting to the executives and management groups.
Tools and technology:
Leverage advanced Excel, Microsoft Power Platform, and financial systems (eg - INFOR / M3, BPC/AFO, DBS, OneStream, SAP, other) for reporting and analysis.
Work with technology partners to continuously enhance reporting, planning, and analysis toolsets and processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
Professional designation (CPA, CGA, CMA, CA) or MBA is an asset
A minimum of 7 years of experience in an analytical role in finance or business accounting
Strong analytical skills to interpret financial results to business impact
Advanced to expert Microsoft Excel skills required, with preference to those with Microsoft Power Platform capabilities
Experience in a large, complex organization is preferred
Understanding and experience with full cycle accounting, with a strong capability of balance sheet and invested capital, and free cash flow
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization skills with the ability to manage time, prioritize and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail driving high accuracy in reporting and data validation
Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects
