The Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making for a family-owned water conditioning business operating across 34 locations in ten states. This position provides financial insights, optimizes performance, and drives business growth by collaborating with department heads and field managers. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial modeling, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
- This position is located in Minnetonka, MN - in office required.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze financial performance across multiple locations, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership review, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Conduct variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to support strategic planning and operational efficiency.
- Develop financial models to assess profitability, cost structures, and revenue optimization strategies.
- Track key financial metrics, including revenue growth, cost efficiency, and margin performance.
Business Partnering & Collaboration
- Work closely with department heads, regional managers and dealership managers to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, pricing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Support operational teams with financial data to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Act as a financial consultant to Regional Area Managers, helping them understand financial performance and drive improvements.
Data Strategy & Process Improvement
- Leverage financial and operational data to enhance reporting accuracy and business intelligence.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements in financial reporting and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and financial best practices.
- Work with IT teams to improve data integration and reporting capabilities.
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
- Assist in long-term financial planning and scenario modeling to support business growth.
- Provide recommendations to optimize revenue streams, cost management, and capital investments.
- Monitor industry trends, economic factors, and competitive landscape that may impact business performance.
- Support leadership in M&A evaluations, expansion strategies, and investment decisions.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience in multi-location business operations or the water conditioning industry is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, macros), financial modeling, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting principles.
- Experience working with ERP systems and financial software.
- Ability to interpret large datasets and translate insights into actionable strategies.
