Corelight is a cybersecurity startup in the network detection and response (NDR) market, based in downtown San Francisco and Columbus, OH.  Our technology helps defend some of the world's most sensitive, mission-critical organizations and gives defenders a commanding view of their environment - so they can outsmart and outlast adversaries. Corelight's unfair market advantages include our unique architecture built on open source Zeek, as well as our founding team - which includes Zeek's inventor and its key open source committers. We aim to follow in the footsteps of successful open source security companies such as Sourcefire and Tenable, and help make the world's networks safer.

We are currently seeking a strategic Sr. Financial Analyst, to play a critical role on Corelight’s finance team. As a strategic Sr. Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in driving Corelight’s financial planning, business analytics, and strategic decision-making across the organization. You will partner closely with senior management and various cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights, identify growth opportunities,  maximize value, and optimize company performance.

 Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including but not limited to: financial modeling, cohort analysis, variance analysis, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis
  • Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis to assess business performance against forecasts and budgets, identifying key areas of opportunity or risk
  • Partner with key stakeholders and business leaders to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations
  • Analyze sales performance data to track commission and sales incentive plan payouts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management by offering proactive insights into financial performance and key business trends
  • Succinctly distill findings and prepare presentations to be utilized by senior leadership

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in strategic finance, FP&A, private equity, investment banking, or consulting roles
  • Highly proficient in financial modeling, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and SQL; experienced with Adaptive Insights and ERP systems
  • Experience implementing, designing and maintaining KPI dashboards and reporting systems to track performance against targets and communicate insights to stakeholders effectively
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders

We understand that no candidate is perfectly qualified for any job. Experience comes in different forms; many skills are transferable; and passion goes a long way. Even more important than your resume is clear demonstration of skill, dedication, and the ability to thrive in a fluid and collaborative environment. We want you to learn new things in this role, and we encourage you to apply if your experience is close to what we’re looking for.

Diversity of background and thought makes for better problem solving and more creative thinking, which is why we're dedicated to adding new perspectives to the team.
