Reporting to the Director of Technology Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will perform a variety of financial activities for the Technology Function including: decision analysis, project cost accounting, financial operations & reporting, financial planning & analysis, and continuous process improvement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Decision Analysis for key strategic technology initiatives:
    • Adopt the cost/benefit analysis template and business case template.
    • Communicate/train technology & business users on how to complete the template.
    • Provide financial input for business cases (such as cost information).
    • Create financial models and value capture templates to track initiative benefits.
    • Track/report value realization and return on investments.
    • Build financial models to support Technology/Business decisions to invest.
    • Track/report Technology initiated cost savings/value added initiatives to optimize IT.


  • Project Cost Accounting & Reporting
    • Review project costs/transactions for accuracy and completeness of the information and take corrective action to resolve issues.
    • Review project contracts, POs and invoices for accuracy and completeness of the information and take corrective action to resolve issues.
    • Prepare and report on project costs and technology investments.


  • Financial Operations and Reporting
    • Review accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness of the information and take corrective action to resolve issues.
    • Review contracts, POs and Invoices for accuracy and completeness of the information and take corrective action to resolve issues.
    • Forecast and track prepaid spending and maintain amortization schedules.
    • Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly financials for both expenses and capital.
    • Prepare, analyze, and follow up on Corporate and Regional Technology spend (Budget, Actual, Forecasts, and Variances)


  • Financial Planning & Analysis
    • Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycles in Technology
    • Communicate/train technology & business users on how to complete the templates
    • Provide year-over-year variance analysis in partnership with Technology


  • Continuous Process Improvements within Technology Finance:
    • Review processes from end-to-end to identify and address inefficiencies.
    • Analyze current processes and compare against industry best practices.
    • Recommend process improvements with justification.
    • Implement changes (including training & post implementation support)
    • Identify Cost Optimization opportunities and drive the realization of those initiatives


KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA designation is desirable.
  • Background in finance/accounting/operations and other related business disciplines.
  • Experience in project cost accounting and decision analysis is required.
  • Experience with Technology Finance is required.
  • Business minded with solid financial, analytical, and business problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite of tools is necessary and exposure to SAP is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong analytical ability required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a requirement.
  • Ability to adapt easily to change and forward-thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently, function effectively under time constraints and multitask based on the nature of the work.
