Baystate Health is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our experienced hospital finance team in Springfield, MA.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Financial Analyst will partner with leaders and managers across the organization, providing meaningful insights, technical expertise, and training that help drive informed financial and operational decisions. This role plays an important part in supporting the organization’s financial goals through budget development, benchmarking, reporting, data analysis, and process improvement.
- Support the development and maintenance of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Maintain reporting within the capital budget module and provide support for budgeting applications.
- Analyze financial results, identify material variances, and partner with managers to understand root causes and develop action plans.
- Develop and maintain ad hoc reports, input schedules, and benchmarking reports.
- Support benchmarking activities and maintain knowledge of relevant industry and departmental metrics.
- Partner with the Manager on budget methodologies and strategies, developing user-friendly tools and processes.
- Extract and analyze data for internal and external surveys and reporting requirements.
- Provide training, education, and ongoing support to managers and end users on budgeting applications, variance reporting, and benchmarking analysis.
- Collaborate with IT and system analysts on system enhancements, dashboard development, testing, and implementation of new functionality.
- Develop test plans and assist with system troubleshooting to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable reporting.
- Help maintain data integrity across performance management and benchmarking systems.

- Hybrid work opportunity – 3 days a week in office, required. Candidate MUST live in MA or CT
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree, required
- Experience with Axiom budgeting software, strongly preferred
- Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to work with complex data and financial information.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills and strong computer proficiency.
- Logical, analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and build positive relationships with managers, IT partners, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
