TITLE: Senior Financial Analyst

DUTIES: BorgWarner Emissions Systems of Michigan Inc. seeks a Senior Financial Analyst based out of our office at 3800 Automation Avenue, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work from the aforementioned address and from home. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned address. Note, this position requires international and domestic travel, as needed up to 30%.

Responsibilities include: the overall financial analysis (balance sheet and income statement) of the Turbos and Thermal Technologies (TTT) Propulsion Technical Center (PTC); coordinate with all levels of management, including the TTT Senior Leadership Team (President, Operational Managers, Functional VPs), Plant Controllers, and Corporate Finance Executives; provide analytical support and insight across global PTC engineering financial reporting, including coordination and consolidation of reporting by department and cost center for actuals, forecasts, and budget/Long Range Plan (LRP); work closely with Senior Engineering Management, including the VP of Engineering, his direct reports, and the Director of Finance for Global Engineering on project reporting; assist the BU Senior Financial Manager/Director of Finance, and plant controllers, primarily in Mexico with projects and analysis; conducting consolidation, accounting treatment, financial reporting, internal control/SOX compliance, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, audits, and tax; work hand in hand primarily with Mexican plants to ensure compliance of internal controls, including but not limited to review of monthly account recons, proper documentation to support controllers on risk and control matrix; act as a liaison between BU/Region and support Mexican plants with month end close and forecast to ensure alignment on reporting standards and deadlines; track customs billing for customs border patrol for internal tracking purposes; responsible for Corporate tariff presentation – ensuring cost and recoveries are properly tracked and consolidated for the region to support CEO report out; monthly tracking of Americas financial results; monitor KPI’s and provide variance analysis; identify and implement process improvements; educate Mexico-based finance teams on OneStream, SAP, Risk and Control Matrix, Proper reporting of Events analysis and FX implications of non-US based entities; provide early warning on all business trends that affect the performance of the RU related to SA&O spend - including P&L, balance sheet, and operational issues, while identifying probable causes and solutions; analysis of all financial reporting and accounting functions for the RU; performs monthly financial closing, which includes the posting of journal entries in SAP and reconciliation of accounts; prepare/submit monthly earnings call package and quarterly balance sheet review package for RU591; collaborate with engineering and sales to ensure collection of R&D reimbursements and Prototype income; and other financial analysis duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field; and 60 months of experience in job offered or related. 

60 months of experience with professional automotive finance or plant finance.

60 months of experience with in depth variance analysis.

Experience working with global finance teams and cross border reporting, including statutory reporting rules, maquiladora structures, and their financial/tax implications.

Experience using SAP Enterprise/Voyager and OneStream.

Experience in ERP migrations and exposure to business intelligence tools, including Power BI, and Tableau.

Experience with risk and control matrix documentation and audit readiness.

Note, this position requires international and domestic travel, as needed up to 30%.
