Senior Financial Analyst 

Role Overview:  

Huntsman has an opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the on-site Finance team in Pétfürdő, Hungary. This role is focused on plant and site finance, with close involvement in month-end close, reporting, controls, audits, and financial analysis for the production site. You will collect, interpret, and report financial data and work with different departments to understand business results and key cost drivers. The role works closely with maintenance, engineering, production, logistics, purchasing, tax, costing, accounting, and cost controlling stakeholders. The position reports to the Finance Manager.

Role Responsibilities: 

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for: 

  • Supporting month-end close activities, including preparation before closing and closing activities within strict deadlines. 

  • Collecting financial data from internal teams and preparing reliable, accurate, and timely financial information. 

  • Preparing reports, ad-hoc analyses, calculations, and summaries related to monthly results and business requests. 

  • Analyzing financial variances, maintenance costs, production costs, and other manufacturing-related costs. 

  • Supporting reconciliations, internal controls, SOX controls, and audit-related reporting after month-end close. 

  • Assisting with annual budget activities by collecting input from cost center owners and supporting budget input preparation. 

  • Supporting budget versus actual analysis when there are variances or business requests to investigate. 

  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand operational and technical reasons behind financial results. 

  • Assisting with internal and external audit preparation and control-related activities. 

  • Supporting improvements in finance systems, reporting processes, and financial procedures where required. 

Experience and Competencies: 

We are looking for a finance professional with experience in manufacturing who enjoys turning data into business insights, understands financial and accounting principles, and is confident working with stakeholders across different functions.

What we are looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. 

  • Around 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, controlling, or accounting. 

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred; the specific sector can be flexible. 

  • Strong understanding of controlling and financial analysis topics. 

  • Good understanding of basic accounting; accounting experience is a strong advantage. 

  • Very good Excel skills, as Excel is used daily. 

  • SAP knowledge is a plus; experience with other ERP systems is also acceptable. 

  • Knowledge of IBM Planning & Analytics and Power BI is a plus, but not mandatory. 

  • Fluent written and communication skills in English and Hungarian. 

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately with financial data. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal stakeholders. 

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks when needed. 

  • Availability to work fully on-site in Pétfürdő from Monday to Friday.
