SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst supports the Company’s financial planning, reporting, and decision-making processes. This role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance reporting, and serves as a key partner to finance leadership and operational stakeholders. The Financial Analyst analyzes financial and operational data, identifies trends and variances, and provides actionable insights to support effective management.

  • Supports the development of the annual operating and capital budgets, as well as monthly forecasts, with a focus on key business drivers and relevant operational and financial metrics.
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly financial statements, including detailed variance analysis to prior periods, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Analyzes large and complex datasets; synthesizes data into clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Develops financial models to assess historical performance, project future results, and/or evaluate risks and opportunities at the clinic and organization level.
  • Provides financial insight and recommendations related to clinic-level profit and loss statements (P&Ls), identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partners with operational and clinical leaders to understand financial drivers, explain results, and support informed decision-making.
  • Works with accounting and finance leadership to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
  • Receives and resolves inquiries from regional directors and clinic managers regarding monthly financial results.
  • Responds to common inquiries from lenders, vendors, or other business leaders.
  • Completes special projects assigned by finance and operational leadership on a timely basis, developing results, conclusions, and/or recommendations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
  • Experience in a hospital, medical group, or management service organization environment, or consulting experience within the healthcare provider industry.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and complex formulas; proficiency in PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, Workday, or similar), as well as EHR systems to extract and validate data.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/TALENTS:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex financial and operational data, identify trends or anomalies, and develop meaningful insights.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, to non-financial audiences, including senior and physician leadership.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis, financial models, and reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make timely, well-reasoned recommendations based on available information.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
  • Professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with physicians, operational leaders, and colleagues at all levels of the Company.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:

  • This is primarily an office classification. Temperature conditions are controlled with limited direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, see, talk and hear. The employee will frequently lift and/or carry reports, records and other materials that typically weigh less than 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch.
  • Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, and other standard office equipment.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Analytics, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or quantitative field
  • 4-6 years of experience in Analytics, FP&A, corporate or strategic finance
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Intermediate large-scale data mining in SQL, including developing queries
  • Intermediate dashboard development in Tableau Desktop
  • Advanced Excel skills including VBA/Macro development
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration
  • Experience in healthcare industry
  • Experience with Excel PowerQuery
  • Experience with Google BigQuery
  • Expertise in Tableau Desktop
