JOB SUMMARY
Supports the bank’s financial management with a strong focus on the budget process. This role is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and monitoring budgets, providing financial insights, and supporting strategic planning to ensure effective allocation of resources

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties, as assigned, including cross training across other departments, as necessary.

•    Lead the preparation and review bank performance and consolidated monthly reports
•    Manage and maintain the bank’s budget software, ensuring financial data, reporting, and support for budgeting and forecast processes. 
•    Lead the development and maintenance of the bank’s five-year plan.
•    Assist Business Units in interpreting financial results
•    Provide high level financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic corporate decision making.
•    Reviews budget drafts with Department Managers until the budgeting process has been finalized
•    Prepares Summary Financial Statement for senior management
•    Review and analyze Branch/Region financial reports
•    Participates in job specific training and other various Bank training programs, as necessary 
•    Maintains current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting of suspicious or unusual customer activity per Bank policy
•    Maintains current knowledge and complies with all federal and state laws and regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls related to department operations
•    Maintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations, and laws as they apply to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance or a related field 
•    A minimum of four years of working experience in finance or accounting is desired
•    Understanding of financial statements and experience with financial reporting 
•    Must be analytical, PC literate and knowledgeable of spreadsheet and word processing software
•    Advanced knowledge of Excel required
•    Flexibility, professionalism, problem solving skills and the ability to make sound financial decisions
•    Attention to detail and a high degree of mental concentration as well as the ability to multitask
•    Good organizational, interpersonal and communications skills
•    Ability to meet deadlines, work in a fast paced environment, and perform a variety of tasks with numerous interruptions
•    Ability to sit in front of a computer screen for long periods of time, which may cause visual strain
•    Bilingual in English and Spanish is desired

ORGANIZATION

•    This position reports to the Assistant Controller
•    This position does not oversee other positions

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

All employees are required to attend scheduled mandatory trainings and complete online regulatory compliance training courses applicable to their specific job function. In all situations, employees must ensure that their actions fully comply with all federal banking laws and regulations, including internal bank policies and procedures. Failure to adhere to these requirements will be grounds for disciplinary action, including probation and possible termination.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
  • Minimum of four years of finance or accounting experience
  • Understanding of financial statements and financial reporting experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software (PC literate)
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and budget software
  • Ability to perform high-level financial modeling and scenario analysis
  • Knowledge of BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML regulations and compliance
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
