The Senior Financial Analyst partners closely with corporate business leaders including but not limited to Chief Communications Officer, General Counsel, Chief Information Officer (dotted line), and collaborates with the broader finance team. Assists with the development and execution of Pivot Bio’s FP&A capabilities including financial reporting, analytics and business models/cash projections. Contributes to comprehensive, strategic thinking about capital allocation. Hands-on designing, managing, and administering end-to-end FP&A processes in a high-growth, high-potential environment.

Essential functions

  • Partner with various business leaders to align corporate, departmental, and financial goals; enable value-added insight through analysis and reporting
  • Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecast for responsible departments and monthly budget-to-actual reporting thereof
  • Provide analytical, strategic, and other business operations support for responsible departments to enable their success
  • Contribute to the upgrade, development and implementation of core systems and processes, including FP&A software and dashboard tools

Competencies

  • Broad knowledge of ERP functions/capabilities/tools in order to perform planning and reporting activities in a timely, accurate, and complete manner
  • Conceptual and practical experience with planning and forecasting, financial analysis, operational analysis, performance analysis, and financial reporting to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial statements and processes

Complexity & Problem Solving

  • Enable value-added insight to business questions and proposals through analysis and reporting, especially where information is limited
  • Develop deep understanding of key business drivers to problem solve creatively across a wide range of issues

Collaboration & Interaction

  • Establish trust with senior internal partners to become the “go-to” person for financial and other analyses
  • Partner with the other members of the FP&A team to align corporate, departmental, and financial goals
  • Ability to influence without authority is a must
  • Comfort with written and verbal communication to executive leadership is a must

Work environment

  • Involves mostly office and computer-based work 
  • Sedentary work that involves primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Spending long hours staring at computer screen
  • Repeating motions that may include wrists, hands or fingers
  • Travel required: Less than 5%

Required education and experience

  • 5 years FP&A business partner, management consulting, or equivalent experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and associated planning and reporting tools
  • Netsuite and Adaptive a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA a plus

Work authorization/security clearance requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
