As a Financial Consultant, you will work in Optum Health, the healthcare delivery arm of Optum. You will be working with an elite team of accounting and finance professionals who are writing the history of our organization and guiding our success as a global industry leader.
This role will communicate and work directly with senior operational and medical leadership daily, performing regular and ad-hoc financial analyses to drive the performance of our clinics.
That's a lot of responsibility, but you will have the support and resources of a Fortune 5 industry leader behind you every step of the way.
If you are located in Golden, CO, you will follow an office-based schedule with three in-office days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provider Compensation and Incentive Calculations:
- Perform monthly and quarterly calculations of provider productivity and quality initiatives that adjust their compensation
- Develop reporting results and present to Sr. Management and operations leadership
- Presenting and educating physicians on compensation plans and incentives
- Forecasting and Budgeting:
- Partners with Sr. and departmental leaders to oversee the budget creation and periodic forecasting
- Develops cost/benefit analyses and staffing needs for key strategies or initiatives
- Participates and develops company-wide business plan and strategies
- Variance Reporting and Analysis:
- Participate and oversee month end revenue process
- Perform variance analyses for actual performance vs forecast and budget
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing P&L reporting
- Various Strategic Analysis:
- Creation and management of ad hoc requests and reporting from Sr. Management
- Acquisition Analysis and Presentation:
- Perform detailed financial and qualitative analysis on potential acquisitions of provider groups and network deals
- Perform valuation analyses, including multi-year discounted cash flow calculations, and analyses of tax return information

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of progressive professional experience in finance and/or accounting
- 4+ years of FP&A experience
- Advanced level of proficiency with Excel (Pivot Tables, advanced formula usage, advanced data analysis)
- Proven executive presence with excellent communication skills
- Experience translating highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
- Proven solid attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience working in an ambiguous environment, offering creative solutions to problems
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA Degree
- Hyperion Essbase, database, and/or PeopleSoft experience
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment
- Experience working in healthcare
- Experience working directly with providers/physicians
- Experience in an internal and/or external client facing role
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
