We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic controllership team. This senior role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in financial controllership, indirect tax operations, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting, driving process improvements, and supporting global tax activities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP or relevant accounting standards.
· Review and validate general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and journal entries.
· Oversee accruals, provisions, and other key account activities.
· Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and financial analysis for management and external auditors.
· Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and recommend improvements to strengthen governance.
· Partner with management to interpret financial data and support decision-making.
· Oversee the preparation, review, and timely filing of VAT, GST, sales tax, and customs-related returns across jurisdictions.
· Monitor indirect tax legislation and ensure organizational compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
· Manage tax audits and respond to tax authorities’ inquiries.
· Analyze tax exposure and risk, identifying efficiency opportunities and process improvements.
· Provide expert advice on tax implications of business transactions and contracts
· Support external and internal audit activities, providing necessary documentation and responses.
· Ensure policies and procedures comply with the organization’s financial management framework and control standards.
· Maintain alignment between ERP system configurations and tax/financial reporting requirements.
· Lead process enhancement initiatives to streamline closing, reporting, and tax compliance workflows.
· Implement automation and analytics solutions to improve data accuracy and reporting timeliness.
· Assist in system upgrades, testing, and rollout of new financial modules.
· Work closely with regional and country finance teams to strengthen financial controls and tax compliance.
· Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior accounting staff.
· Collaborate across departments to ensure consistent application of accounting and tax policies.
Qualifications:
· Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) required.
· Minimum 7–10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including at least 3 years controllership or indirect tax management.
· Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and global indirect tax frameworks.
· Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Excel/financial analysis tools.
· Experience in multinational or public/international organizations preferred.
· Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge.
· Analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Proven leadership and mentoring capability.
· Ability to manage complex workflows and competing priorities.
