Senior Finance Officer

Reporting to
Associate Director – Finance / Manager – Project Finance
Purpose
The
purpose of the Senior Finance Officer role at CEEW is to ensure
robust financial management and sustainability by overseeing budgeting,
compliance, donor fund utilization, and reporting. The role involves aligning
financial strategies with organizational goals, maintaining transparency, and
ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. By providing accurate financial
insights and fostering efficient resource allocation, the Finance Manager
supports CEEW’s mission to drive impactful research and solutions in energy,
environment, and sustainable development.
- Develop and manage organizational
and project budgets to align with strategic goals.
- Ensure compliance with statutory
regulations, including GST, TDS, and FCRA.
- Oversee financial reporting for
donors, stakeholders, and management.
- Manage cash flow, fund
utilization, and financial forecasting.
- Coordinate internal and external
audits and ensure timely resolution of findings.
- Monitor and control expenses to
ensure adherence to approved budgets.
- Manage payroll processing and
vendor payments with accuracy and compliance.
- Provide financial insights to
support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain robust financial
systems, policies, and internal controls.
- Ensure timely and accurate
preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Collaborate with program teams to
align funding with project deliverables.
- Mitigate financial risks and
recommend cost-saving measures.
- Oversee the use of financial
software and ensure data security.
Selection Criteria
1. Educational
Background
- Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (essential).
- A master’s
degree or MBA in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (preferred).
- Professional
certifications such as CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent (highly desirable).
2. Experience
- Minimum 5-7
years of experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably within the
non-profit sector.
- Proven
track record of managing donor funds, project budgets, and financial
reporting.
- Experience
with compliance in areas like FCRA, TDS, and GST for Indian NPOs.
3. Technical
Skills
- Proficiency
in financial management software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks).
- Advanced
skills in Excel and financial analysis tools.
- Knowledge
of non-profit accounting standards and fund accounting.
4. Soft
Skills
- Strong
analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent
communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to
work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
