You'll build the financial foundations from scratch: scalable systems, clean numbers, and a seat at the table when the decisions that shape Haast’s future get made.

We're not building another legal AI assistant. We're building one of the first agentic systems for enterprise legal and compliance teams that actually automates their manual work. End-to-end.

• Strategic partner: Sit alongside leadership on investor reporting, scenario modelling, fundraise preparation, and the ad hoc decisions that move the business forward.

• Financial engine: Working with our accountant, you make sure payroll runs without a hitch, taxes are filed correctly, revenue is booked properly, and month-end close, treasury, invoicing, and board reporting all happen like clockwork.

• Scalable operations: Build billing processes, treasury management, and expense workflows that hold up as we scale. You think in systems, not spreadsheets.

• Financial hygiene: Keep a clean picture of where every dollar goes: headcount, R&D, G&A, COGS, with investor-ready cost breakdowns and proper departmental allocation. Own R&D tax incentive claims and our multi-entity, multi-currency obligations.

• FP&A: Build and maintain a dynamic financial model tied to business drivers. Own Budget vs. Actuals so the business stays on track.

• Procurement gatekeeper: You're the checkpoint for SaaS sprawl. Identify shadow IT, consolidate duplicate tools, and enforce disciplined purchasing.

• FX management: With revenue and costs across AUD and USD, you'll own currency risk: optimising conversion timing, managing multi-currency cash positions, and making smart hedging calls as international revenue grows.

• CA or CPA qualified (highly desirable): You trained in the disciplines of good work and financial rigour.

• Big 4 or mid-tier foundation: Your first few years were in audit, financial reporting, or transaction services. You know the hygiene.

• Proven commercial experience: You have experience running numbers that actually matter to a business, not just advising on them.

• Startup or high-growth exposure: You've operated in ambiguity, worn multiple hats, and know the pitfalls of fast-moving businesses.

• Systems mindset: You're comfortable across Xero and cloud-based finance stacks and always looking for a better way to do things.

• Experience with multi-entity structures across AU and US.

• Exposure to cross-border payroll, transfer pricing, or GST/VAT complexity.

• Impact: Own the finance function of a VC-backed company expanding into a $50B+ market, and help shape how it scales.

• Ownership: Partner directly with founders and leadership on the decisions that define the next phase of growth.

• Growth: As we scale globally, this function, and the person running it, grows with it. Learn more in 12 months than most roles offer in three years.

• Variety: No two weeks look the same. One week you're structuring a billing model, the next you're prepping board materials or navigating a cross-border tax question.
