The Role

NFL International drives The League’s global growth through international games, media, marketing, consumer products, events, and sponsorship. As the NFL expands into new markets, our International Finance Team plays a critical role in supporting this evolution.

We’re seeking a seasoned finance professional to join our team and support the international controllership function. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the NFL’s global strategy while ensuring financial integrity and compliance across diverse regions.

As Senior Finance Manager – International, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting and internal controls across all international operations. In addition to supporting the six offices already established outside of the US, the role will be integral to supporting further global expansion efforts. This role requires deep expertise in international accounting standards, cross-border financial regulations, and collaboration with multinational teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and deliver financial insights to support strategic decision-making, including efforts around Global Games expansion
  • Partner with FP&A to ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations during budgeting and forecasting 
  • Collaborate with NFL Tax and external professional service providers on international tax matters, including transfer pricing and local compliance
  • Work with NFL Legal in establishing entities and ensuring compliance in new target markets 
  • Partner with international territory finance teams to ensure compliance with VAT regulations and statutory reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes for the NFL’s Global Games and Events businesses, while coordinating closely with international territory teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Conduct regular balance sheet reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Manage relations with external auditors and provide oversight of statutory audit processes
  • Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to support international expansion and operations

Required Experience and Attributes

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 6+ years PQE, including 2+ years in a multinational environment
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS along with experience of US GAAP and international tax regulations
  • Experience with VAT compliance and reporting across multiple jurisdictions
  • Proficiency in financial systems such as Oracle, SAP or similar ERP platforms
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones
