What this opportunity involves:
We have two vacancies for Senior Finance Manager – Industrial to join our Property Management team, supporting one of our prestigious clients’ national industrial portfolios. This is a high-impact role requiring strong technical expertise, independence, and the ability to manage complex financial reporting requirements for institutional property owners.
As Senior Finance Manager, you will direct the delivery of management and financial reports, coordinate quarterly asset planning, oversee budgets and forecasts, and ensure compliance with tax and audit obligations. You will work closely with the Industrial Team, including the Account Director, property management team, and client stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be based in either our Sydney CBD or Parramatta office with the ability to attend the office three times per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to property owners, including month-end close procedures, general ledger reviews, and GST reconciliations
- Lead the preparation of annual property budgets and coordinate internal and owner budget review meetings to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
- Coordinate the quarterly Asset Planning process, including pre-forecast meetings, financial modeling in MRI SP, and timely submission of comprehensive Asset Plan packs
- Manage outgoings estimates, annual wash-ups, and tenant reconciliations in full compliance with lease agreements and the Retail Shop Leases Act
- Monitor actual expenditure against budget, analyze variances, and ensure properties operate within owner-approved budget constraints
- Act as the primary finance contact for property owners, internal teams, and external auditors, responding to queries promptly and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
- Review and maintain the MRI accounting system to ensure data integrity, develop robust accounting controls, and oversee accounts payable processing
- Provide financial guidance and support to the property management team, assist with valuation briefs, tax schedules, IFRS rent smoothing, and deliver on ad hoc reporting requirements
Key Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or advanced certification such as CFA or CPA is highly desirable)
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in financial reporting within commercial property management, real estate, or a related industry
- High degree of independence and accountability with a strong understanding of contractual obligations and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality results under pressure
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, and strong working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with MRI/MRI SP accounting systems is highly beneficial and will be favorably regard
- Positive, client-focused approach with strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance tenant and owner expectations effectively
