The Senior Finance Manager - Commercial will partner with Commercial Heads of Brand (BWS and Dan Murphy’s) supporting Endeavour and Retail Brand strategies with revenue of +$10Bn.

With a strong commercial growth and transformational mindset you will drive business
performance and proactively provide commercial support through thought leadership and
actionable insights. The role has 3 direct reports (category finance business partners) and a total team size of 4 FTE’s,

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

Performance Reporting, Interpretation & Planning

  • Proactively deliver insightful analysis and commercial recommendations to the business
  • Ensure robust frameworks are in place for all Commercial reporting, ensuring messaging is actionable and insightful
  • Monitoring performance against plan, establishing early warning signals to ensure that plans are met or that corrective actions are taken. Avoid surprises through proactive oversight and communication.
  • Proactively manage, agree and communicate business Budget/Forecasts and any other strategic planning requirements
  • Managing business initiatives against targets, supporting key stakeholders to optimise opportunities
  • Provide strong cross functional leadership, ensuring Merch performance drivers are transparent and understood by FP&A, eCom, Marketing, Loyalty and Operations and that trading initiatives ultimately focus on holistic outcomes for Endeavour Retail.

Decision Support

  • Support strategic recommendations in line with Strategy to the Merch Leadership team and Brand GM Finance/LT
  • Partner with the Heads of Brand and Category to operationalise revenue and earnings growth through commercial decision making
  • Play the role of ‘commercial advisor’ in all category activities, including supplier negotiations and discussions.
  • Advise on performance and opportunities in relation to long-term business initiatives.Ensure long term financial targets have relevant and sound strategic thinking.
  • Support promotions builds, ensuring optimised performance based on category strategy and playing the required role to achieve targets

Team and Culture

  • Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to direct reports and across the broader Endeavour finance and commercial teams
  • Establishing and developing relations with senior management, external partners, finance and commercial stakeholders
  • Work closely with finance peers across all brands and the group

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • Minimum of 12+ years relevant experience with CA/CPA Qualification
  • Previous management experience of multi-functional team / or experience in the retail of FMCG sectors desirable
  • Strong presentation and storyboarding skills and able to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience; able to make the complex simple
  • Advanced leadership, coaching, mentoring and development skills
  • Advanced time management skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise team efforts to support business requirements
  • Advanced experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel, Powerpoint
