Senior Field Operations Specialist

SI-BONE® is focused on helping patients in one of the most under-served, under-diagnosed, and under-treated areas in orthopedics, the sacroiliac (SI) joint. The iFuse Implant System® provides a less invasive alternative to traditional sacroiliac (SI) joint fusion surgery and has been used in over 90,000 procedures to date.

We are a medical device company that is focused on improving the lives of patients with sacroiliac pelvic conditions. We are looking for people who are passionate about our mission and who are willing to work hard to achieve it. We are also looking for people who are:

  • Team Players: We roll-up our sleeves and work together as one team to achieve our goals.

General Responsibilities:

SI-BONE is seeking a Senior Field Operations Specialist to lead and optimize our global fulfillment operations, ensuring world-class support for surgical procedures through efficient, compliant, and timely delivery of medical products and assets. This role provides advanced operational oversight across fulfillment, asset and loaner kit management, and field inventory performance within both commercial and clinical channels.

This individual will serve as a key point of contact for process escalations, act as a mentor to junior team members, and collaborate cross-functionally to improve operational workflows. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in medical device operations, a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, and demonstrated leadership in supply chain execution.

All duties must be performed in compliance with worldwide regulatory requirements as included in the scope of the SI-BONE Quality Manual.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

Fulfillment and Inventory Operations

  •  Oversee and execute end-to-end order processing using QAD, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office tools to ensure timely and accurate delivery of surgical assets (trays, totes, disposables, kits, instruments, and implants).
  •  Analyze fulfillment trends and proactively identify risks to surgical case support; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Serve as SME (Subject Matter Expert) in fulfillment best practices and cross-functional coordination with warehousing and logistics partners.

Reverse Logistics and Asset Recovery

  •  Manage and improve reverse logistics workflows to ensure prompt and traceable returns of borrowed and loaner assets.
  •  Partner with field teams and 3PLs to reduce turnaround time and increase asset availability.

Loaner Program Management

  • Lead strategic planning and execution of the loaner kit program, ensuring geographic alignment and procedural readiness.
  •  Drive optimization efforts to increase utilization, reduce idle time, and enhance kit availability.

Loose Inventory and Ad Hoc Support

  • Maintain rigorous inventory accuracy for non-kitted implants and consumables.
  •  Enforce approval workflows and support urgent fulfillment needs with minimal delay.

Customer and Field Support

  •  Act as senior liaison with field sales, clinical teams, and customer service to resolve escalated issues related to product delivery and availability.
  •  Lead customer-facing order fulfillment communications and reporting.

Process Improvement and Compliance

  •  Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across fulfillment and asset operations.
  •  Ensure all operations align with quality system requirements and regulatory standards (FDA, ISO, EU MDR).
  •  Support internal and external audits as needed.

Team Collaboration and Leadership

  •  Mentor junior Field Operations Specialists; provide training, guidance, and support to elevate team performance.
  •  Contribute to SOP creation and revisions related to fulfillment and inventory management.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • 5+ years of experience in field operations, fulfillment, or logistics, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • Proven expertise in inventory management, loaner kit coordination, and order processing in a regulated environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of QAD ERP, Salesforce CRM, and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Demonstrated experience working with quality systems and regulatory frameworks including ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820, EU MDR.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment with cross-functional teams.
  • APICS, CSCP, or other supply chain certification strongly preferred.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field is preferred.
