Job Title:

Senior Experience Designer

Job Description

Concentrix Catalyst is looking for a Senior Experience Designer who can turn complex customer and business problems into clear, useful and well-crafted experiences.

This is a broad, hands-on role across discovery, research, experience strategy, interaction design, user interface design, prototyping and delivery. You will work as both a senior designer and a trusted consultant. You will help clients frame the right problem, make practical trade-offs and connect design decisions to customer and business outcomes.

You will take ownership from early thinking through to delivery. You will also help raise the standard of the wider practice through critique, coaching, shared methods and strong day-to-day judgement.

We have teams in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, supported by a global design community.

How we AI

AI is now part of everyday design practice. We expect senior designers to use it confidently, responsibly and with purpose.

We support this through an ongoing program of learning, with a strong focus on AI, so design remains at the forefront of how new services are conceived, delivered and improved.

This includes using AI to support research synthesis, exploration, content, critique, prototyping and production. It also means writing clear prompts, building repeatable workflows, checking outputs against source material and knowing when human judgement is required.  AI can increase speed and volume. It does not replace customer understanding, critical thinking, taste, craft or accountability.

You should be able to explain where AI adds value, where it creates risk and when a non-AI approach is the better choice.

What you will do

  • Lead experience design work from discovery through to detailed design and delivery.

  • Frame complex customer, business and technical problems clearly.

  • Help clients identify the right problem to solve and the right level of design effort.

  • Plan and support research, interviews, usability testing and validation.

  • Turn evidence, data and business needs into journeys, flows, concepts, prototypes and detailed designs.

  • Design accessible experiences across responsive web, mobile and other digital channels.

  • Move confidently between strategy, interaction design, information architecture and visual design.

  • Use research, analytics and customer feedback to guide decisions.

  • Present work clearly and explain the reasoning behind key choices.

  • Facilitate workshops, design reviews and collaborative working sessions.

  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, content designers and stakeholders.

  • Make sound trade-offs across customer needs, business goals, technical limits, budgets and timelines.

  • Contribute to design systems, shared standards and reusable patterns.

  • Support other designers through critique, feedback and coaching.

  • Use AI tools as part of your day-to-day design process.

  • Contribute to proposals, client conversations and new opportunities.

What experience and skills do you need?

Required

  • At least five years of professional experience in experience design, UX, product design, interaction design or a related field.

  • Experience delivering end-to-end design work in a consultancy, agency or complex product environment.

  • Strong human-centred design, interaction design and information architecture skills.

  • A sound foundation in visual design, including typography, layout, colour, hierarchy and responsive design.

  • Experience designing for responsive web, iOS and Android.

  • Strong Figma skills, including prototyping, components, libraries and design systems.

  • Experience planning or supporting user research and usability testing.

  • A working understanding of WCAG and accessible design.

  • Experience presenting work, influencing decisions and working with senior stakeholders.

  • Experience facilitating workshops and collaborative design sessions.

  • The ability to work closely with product, engineering, research, content and business teams.

  • A working understanding of HTML, CSS and front-end development constraints.

  • Experience using AI tools for design, research, content, analysis or prototyping.

  • The ability to write and refine prompts with clear context, constraints, examples and expected outcomes.

  • The ability to build repeatable AI-assisted workflows rather than relying on one-off prompts.

  • The judgement to review AI outputs for quality, accuracy, bias, privacy and suitability.

  • A clear understanding of responsible AI use, including privacy, security and intellectual property.

  • Evidence of ongoing learning and experimentation with new tools and methods.

Desirable

  • Native mobile design experience.

  • Service design or journey mapping experience.

  • Experience designing conversational or AI-supported experiences.

  • Experience using analytics or behavioural data to guide design work.

  • Experience mentoring other designers.

  • Experience contributing to proposals, pitches or client growth.

About you

  • You have a strong portfolio that explains the problem, your role, your process, your decisions and the outcome.

  • You can move between strategic thinking and detailed design work.

  • You take responsibility for outcomes, not just design artefacts.

  • You understand how customer needs, business goals, technology and delivery constraints affect the work.

  • You are comfortable working through ambiguity and helping others create clarity.

  • You can make progress without waiting for perfect information.

  • You communicate clearly and can explain design decisions without jargon.

  • You understand that seniority includes judgement, influence, ownership and support for others.

  • You value craft and quality, while working within real budgets and timelines.

  • You are curious about new technology but do not use tools simply because they are new.

  • You treat AI as part of the design process, not as a replacement for thinking.

  • You question outputs, test assumptions and know when to rely on evidence.

  • You seek feedback, continue learning and share what you know.

  • You can work independently, but you do not work in isolation.

Why you will enjoy working with us

You will join a diverse design team that includes experience designers, researchers, service designers, UI designers and design leaders.

You will work on complex problems across a range of clients and industries. You will have access to a global design community, shared methods, learning opportunities and new tools.

We value clear thinking, strong craft, practical outcomes and continuous learning. We expect senior designers to improve the work, support the team and help shape how the practice develops.
