SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

The School of Continuing Education, one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:

Senior Executive Officer (25260663)

The appointee is expected to provide administrative and executive support to research activities and strategic initiatives of the School. Duties include a) assist the Director of Research Management Office to oversee the implementation and administration of development plan on Research; b) initiate, plan and implement activities in relation to research administration; c) coordinate research grant applications and post-grant management; d) provide administrative support including the compilation of papers and writing up of reports, and the formulation/review of management and operation guidelines, workflows and procedures in related areas; e) undertake liaison with internal and external units/parties; and f) supervise, motivate and provide guidance to the team and to serve as secretary for committees.

Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree with at least four years of relevant experience, preferably in research administration and related co-ordination work. They should have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), effective communication, multi-tasking and analytical skills. They should also have a strong sense of responsibility, good team spirit, be detailed-minded and highly self-motivated. Essential competency in computer application including MS Office application (Chinese and English), databases and spreadsheets are required. Experience in compiling statistical data, managing social media platforms/website, organising activities, and webpage design will be an advantage.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Skills Required
