Alphawave is setting-up a global finance shared service Centre in India. You would be part of fast-growing finance team supporting the finance team spread across geographies.
What you'll do:
We are and looking for suitable candidates for multiple positions in different global process teams – Quote to Cash, Hire to Retire, Record to Report, Procure to Pay and Tangible & Intangible Property. Typical responsibilities will include tasks like:
1. Accounts Payable (AP) Management:
- Process invoices, expense reports, and payment requests promptly.
- Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger.
- Handle vendor queries and manage vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures.
2. Accounts Receivable (AR) Management:
- Process customer invoices and manage collections.
- Reconcile AR sub-ledger with the general ledger.
- Resolve discrepancies and handle customer queries.
- Create accounts receivable reports.
3. General Ledger (GL) Accounting:
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Support financial reporting and analysis.
4. Payroll Processing:
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate salary payments.
- Handle payroll-related queries and adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies.
5. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Analyze financial data to support decision-making processes.
- Generate ad-hoc reports as required by management.
6. Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure adherence to internal controls over financial reporting and compliance with financial regulations.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Implement and maintain financial procedures.
7. Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation.
- Collaborate with other departments to refine financial processes.
- Support programs to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- You will report to Senior Director of Finance.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is needed.
- Professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA) or a master's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration will be a positive.
- 7+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles within a shared service center environment, a Big 4 or a finance team of a multi-national corporation.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
- Experience with ERP systems
- Willingness to work between 12pm to 9pm IST (depending on the role)
